Deemed University MBBS Fees — College by College

Notified MBBS year-1 figures, surfaced exactly as each sourced college page records them — institution-notified for the deemed and NRI tiers, state-authority-notified for state-quota blocks. “—” means the sourced college page records no rupee figure for that tier — several colleges notify NRI fees in US dollars, and not every college keeps a state-quota block; the college page has the full picture, including year-wise schedules.

Fee year is each university's own notification cycle and applies to the deemed and NRI figures; state-quota figures follow the state authority's own cycle, with the dated source on the college page. The state-quota column shows the notified state-counselled figure where a college keeps such a seat block (allotted by the state authority, not MCC) — its scope follows each college page's own recording, so some figures are the state fee alone while others include university and college charges. Figures across different years or scopes are not directly comparable; each college page links the dated official source and the breakdown.

Figures are the latest notified year recorded on each college page and are revised annually — open the college page for the year, the full schedule and the official source document.

How deemed-university MBBS admission actually works

How MCC's deemed counselling works

Deemed-to-be universities fill their deemed-quota MBBS seats through the Medical Counselling Committee's all-India online counselling — the same MCC portal that runs the All-India Quota — across Round 1, Round 2, mop-up and stray-vacancy rounds. There is no state domicile requirement: a candidate from any state can take a deemed seat anywhere in India, on NEET-UG merit, at the institution-notified fee.

Institution-notified fees — and why they vary

A deemed university sets and notifies its own MBBS fee for each academic year, rather than taking a fee fixed by a state regulator. That is why year-1 figures on this page differ college to college and are notified for different academic years. There is typically a single deemed fee plus a separate NRI tier — not the four-tier matrix state counselling uses. Every figure here is the college page's sourced, notified amount.

Several deemed colleges keep state-quota seat blocks

University status doesn't always mean every seat leaves state counselling. Several colleges on this page — Kasturba Mangalore, K S Hegde, Yenepoya and JSS Mysore among them — also notify a state-counselled government-tier seat block through KEA alongside their MCC deemed seats. The state-quota column above shows the notified figure wherever such a block exists; the college page explains both routes.

Frequently Asked Questions — Deemed Medical Colleges

MCC counselling, institution-notified fees and seat routes — the questions students and parents ask most.

What is a deemed medical college?
A deemed medical college belongs to a deemed-to-be university — an institution granted university status under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. For MBBS admission the practical differences are the route and the fee: seats are filled through MCC's all-India deemed counselling rather than a state's counselling, and the fee is notified by the institution itself rather than fixed by a state fee regulator. The degree still requires NEET-UG and NMC recognition like any other MBBS.
How do I get MBBS admission in a deemed university?
Register for MCC's deemed-quota counselling at mcc.nic.in with a qualifying NEET-UG score, pay the deemed-counselling fee and security deposit, and fill choices across Round 1, Round 2, mop-up and stray-vacancy rounds. There is no state domicile restriction — candidates from any state compete for any deemed college on NEET merit. No deemed college can lawfully admit an MBBS student outside official counselling — MCC for deemed seats, and the state authority for the state-quota seat blocks some colleges keep (shown in the table above).
How much do deemed medical colleges charge for MBBS?
Across the 30 colleges on this page with a notified deemed fee, MBBS year-1 figures range from ₹17.8 L to ₹27.5 L. NRI tiers are notified separately and run higher. The table above shows each college's own figures, and every college page links the official source.
Is there a management quota in deemed medical colleges?
Not as a separate tier. A deemed college's deemed-quota intake is allotted through MCC counselling at the single institution-notified fee — functionally what state systems call a management-tier price, but with allotment strictly on NEET merit through MCC. The one exception is the state-counselled seat block some colleges keep (the state-quota column above), allotted by the state authority on NEET merit — never sold directly. No lawful deemed seat exists outside MCC's rounds, so treat any 'direct admission' or 'donation seat' offer in a deemed college as a red flag.
Do any deemed medical colleges have state-quota seats?
Yes — 6 of the 41 colleges on this page also notify a state-counselled government-tier seat block alongside their MCC deemed seats (Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, JSS Medical College, Mysore, K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), Mangalore and Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore among them). Those blocks are allotted by the state authority at the notified state fee, not by MCC. The state-quota column above shows the figure wherever such a block exists.
Are the fee figures on this page official?
Each figure is taken from the college's own page on CollegeAndFees, where it is cited to the official source — the university's notified fee structure, MCC counselling disclosures, or the state authority's fee notification for state-quota blocks. Fees are revised every academic year, so confirm the latest notification on the college page before making any payment.
Does this page list every deemed medical college in India?
Not yet — it compares the 41 deemed medical colleges with fully sourced pages on CollegeAndFees (currently in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Telangana), and grows as more states' pages are published. For the complete official picture, see MCC's deemed-counselling seat matrix (mcc.nic.in) and UGC's consolidated list of deemed-to-be universities (ugc.gov.in).
