Medical Colleges in Odisha 2026 — MBBS Fees, Quotas & Seats

This page compares 6 private and deemed medical colleges across 3 Odisha cities that admit MBBS through NEET-UG — the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Board allots State-quota, Management-quota and NRI-quota seats at the non-deemed private colleges, while Bhubaneswar's deemed cluster (IMS & SUM Hospital and KIMS) admits through MCC's deemed-quota counselling instead — from the capital Bhubaneswar to Rourkela and Cuttack. The state's government colleges (SCB Cuttack, MKCG Berhampur, VSS Burla and others) admit through the same OJEE state counselling but are out of scope here.

Where a Management-quota MBBS fee is officially notified, year-1 figures range from ₹5.5 L to ₹17.9 L across the colleges below, with State-quota and NRI tiers notified separately. Fee coverage is still being sourced college by college — every figure here links back to a sourced college page, and nothing is an estimate.

Notified MBBS year-1 figures, surfaced exactly as each sourced college page records them — the OJEE State-quota (government), Management-quota and NRI-quota tiers at the private colleges, and the institution-notified deemed-route fee for Bhubaneswar's deemed colleges. “—” means that college has no such tier (or it isn't notified yet); the college page has the full picture.

Odisha's non-deemed private colleges fill seats through OJEE's state centralised counselling under a State quota (the government tier), a Management quota and an NRI quota for the same MBBS seat; Bhubaneswar's deemed colleges (IMS & SUM and KIMS) admit through MCC's deemed-quota counselling with institution-notified fees instead. Fee coverage is sparse and still being sourced; “—” marks a tier not yet notified or published. Each college page links the dated official source.

Figures are the latest notified year recorded on each college page and are revised annually — open the college page for the exact quota basis and the official source document.

MBBS Colleges in Odisha by City

Odisha's private and deemed MBBS seats are concentrated in the state capital Bhubaneswar — four colleges, three of them deemed-to-be universities — with single private colleges in Rourkela and at Tangi near Cuttack. The fee shown is the headline Management-quota (or deemed-route) MBBS year-1 figure from each sourced college page.

How medical seats & fees actually work in Odisha

How OJEE's State, Management & NRI quotas work

Non-deemed private medical colleges in Odisha fill seats through the Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Board, the state's centralised UG medical counselling authority, under three quotas for the same seat: State quota (the lowest, state-notified tier), Management quota and NRI quota. OJEE runs 100% of the seats at Odisha's non-deemed private colleges — there is no 15% all-India share carved out of them. The MBBS degree and the NEET-UG requirement are identical across all three quotas; only the officially notified fee and the seat pool change, and every quota is allotted on NEET-UG merit.

Bhubaneswar's deemed cluster admits through MCC, not OJEE

Three of the colleges on this page are deemed-to-be universities clustered in Bhubaneswar — the Institute of Medical Sciences & SUM Hospital and its Campus II (both under Siksha 'O' Anusandhan) and Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS, part of KIIT Deemed-to-be University). A deemed-university medical college admits its entire MBBS intake through the central Medical Counselling Committee (MCC)'s all-India deemed-quota counselling, with institution-notified fees — not through OJEE's state counselling. Always confirm whether a Bhubaneswar college uses OJEE or MCC before option entry; each college page states the route it actually uses.

Government colleges and the All-India Quota

Odisha's best-known MBBS seats sit at government colleges — SCB Medical College Cuttack, MKCG Berhampur, VSS Burla and the newer state colleges among them — which admit through OJEE's 85% state quota plus MCC's 15% all-India quota, on the government fee structure; this page covers private and deemed colleges, so those institutions are out of scope here. The 15% All-India Quota is a government-college mechanism filled by MCC: it is not carved out of Odisha's private colleges, which fill their seats fully through OJEE state counselling (and the deemed colleges through MCC).
