Engineering Fee Transparency Report India (2026-27)

Scope & coverage

This report covers the India-wide CollegeAndFees verified-fee database, not a government census of every engineering college in India. The current dataset is deepest for Bangalore and Karnataka private-college fee research, but the lowest-fee and distribution sections intentionally use all current rows in the database.

• 154 active colleges have at least one current 2026-27 fee row in this report.
• Colleges without a current fee row are excluded from medians and lowest-fee rankings.
• Management-quota figures still require branch-wise re-verification before payment.

• 154 of 482 active colleges currently have a 2026-27 fee row in the CollegeAndFees verified-fee database.
• Median Year 1 management-quota fee across the dataset: ₹2.3L.
• Median Year 1 government-quota (KCET / COMEDK) fee: ₹0.4L.

• 141 colleges (29%) report at least one management-quota row.
• 348 colleges (72%) have published verified KCET / COMEDK cutoffs.

Methodology

All figures are computed live from the rows in our public fee dataset for AY 2026-27. We exclude rows where tuition_fee ≤ ₹100 (placeholders), and consider a college "active" if its is_active flag is true. Median is taken over the minimum Year 1 fee per college across branches, so each college contributes one data point regardless of how many branches it offers.
