Its teaching hospital pre-dates the college (registered 2004) and the NMC's current pro-forma records 1,113 beds plus a 20-bed emergency unit (an earlier KPME certificate recorded 1,360 teaching + 100 non-teaching beds — recorded as a conflict); in May 2026 alone the hospital logged 72,921 outpatient visits (about 2,352 a day) and 3,780 admissions, and it served as a designated COVID hospital in 2020.
