These are the official KEA closing NEET-UG ranks for JNMC Belagavi's government/state-quota seats (KEA code M032, course label 'MBBS-GOVT.'), from the KEA CET-2024 Round 2 cutoff publication — the General Merit seat closed at All-India rank 14,570. JNMC has NO row in KEA's CET-2024 private-quota cutoff PDF: as a deemed-university constituent college its management and NRI seats are allotted through MCC's Deemed counselling, for which MCC publishes round-wise allotments rather than a single closing-rank sheet — check mcc.nic.in for the current round. For 2025-26, KAHER's own notification discloses 12 KEA government-quota seats; KEA's consolidated 2025 cutoff for this college was not yet available in our sources, so the CET-2024 figures above are the latest published KEA ranks. For MD/MS and DOMS, the management (paid) seats run through MCC's NEET-PG deemed counselling, which also publishes round-wise allotment lists rather than a closing-rank sheet — so the NEET-PG 2025 table above is computed: for each speciality it shows the last (highest) NEET-PG 2025 rank that received a paid-seat ('Self-Financed Merit Seat') allotment at JNMC in the final round where that speciality filled, taken from MCC's official Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and Stray Vacancy Round final-result PDFs. Earlier rounds closed earlier — MD Radiodiagnosis paid seats, for example, closed at rank 15,985 in Round 1 vs 17,332 in Round 3. The separate NRI quota ran much later: NRI allotments at JNMC ranged from rank 49,314 to 1,97,691 across specialities and rounds. Last-allotted ranks move every round and every year, so treat them as indicative, not as a fixed cutoff.

Scholarships

Scholarships

KAHER's official Students Scholarship Policy sets a budgetary provision of Rs 2.00 crore per annum in the university budget for scholarships across its constituent colleges, including JNMC. Awards are merit-based for deserving or economically weaker students, routed through an application recommended by the constituent college's Principal; a student may hold only one university scholarship/freeship in a year, and the amount is adjusted directly against academic fees by the Finance Office rather than paid to the student. Karnataka-domicile students admitted on KEA seats can separately pursue the state SSP and national NSP government scholarship portals.

Infrastructure & facilities

Labs, library, sports, hostels & campus facilities

JNMC sits on a 100-acre campus at Nehru Nagar, Belagavi (Belgaum) that doubles as KAHER's university headquarters. The same campus houses both teaching hospitals — the KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital (the designated JNMC teaching hospital) and the KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & Medical Research Centre, the roughly 2,000-bed NABH-accredited tertiary centre with 30 operating theatres. KAHER's own pages describe the college's collaborations with ICMR, WHO and the Universities of Illinois Chicago and Missouri Kansas City for teaching and research, and the campus hosts the JNMC Women's & Children's Health Research Unit and KAHER's Basic Science Research Centre. KLES hostels and residential quarters are on campus, with separate boys', girls' and NRI hostels whose official fee card (17/06/2025) prices a first year from Rs 99,200 including food.

Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Belagavi (Belgaum) was set up in 1963 by the KLE Society (established 1916) — making it one of India's oldest private medical colleges — and is today the founding constituent college of the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), a deemed-to-be-university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 that is NAAC-accredited at A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.39 (third cycle; certificate valid to 21 February 2027). KAHER describes JNMC as a centre of excellence whose collaborations span ICMR, WHO, the University of Illinois Chicago and the University of Missouri Kansas City, with the JNMC Women's & Children's Health Research Unit and a Basic Science Research Centre on the Nehru Nagar campus; the college is listed in the WHO directory of world medical schools and its courses have been recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council. Its postgraduate spread — 21 MD/MS specialities (207 seats), a DOMS diploma and 16 DM/M.Ch super-speciality programmes (47 seats) including cardiology, neurosurgery, interventional radiology, medical oncology and neonatology — is among the deepest at any private medical college in Karnataka, and the attached NABH-accredited KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & MRC anchors transplant-level clinical research. Do not confuse JNMC Belagavi (NMC code KA/026/P/4, established 1963) with KLE's newer Hubballi medical college — they are distinct NMC-coded institutions of the same KLE family, and every figure on this page is tagged to KA/026/P/4.

FAQ

Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum FAQs

What is the management quota fee for MBBS at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi?
Per KAHER's revised UG fee notification dated 16/07/2025, the management/paid-seat (general) MBBS tuition at JNMC Belagavi is Rs 19,20,000 for year 1, Rs 19,15,000 for each of years 2-4 and Rs 9,60,000 for the final half year — about Rs 86.25 lakh tuition over the 4.5-year course plus the internship year. These seats are allotted through MCC's Deemed-university counselling on NEET-UG merit, not by the college directly.
What is the NRI quota fee at JNMC Belagavi, and what documents does it need?
The NRI-category MBBS fee is charged in US dollars only: $45,500 for year 1, $44,000 for each of years 2-4 and $24,000 for the final half year — about $2,01,500 in total per KAHER's 2025-26 notification. NRI candidates must establish the sponsor relationship per the Supreme Court's CODEUNIK order of 22-08-2017: a Tehsildar-signed family tree (Annexure-D), a ward certificate, the sponsor's embassy certificate issued within the last six months, the sponsor's passport/visa and NRI-status proof, and the candidate's passport.
Is there direct admission to MBBS at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College?
No. Every MBBS seat at JNMC Belagavi — including management and NRI — requires NEET-UG qualification and runs through official counselling: MCC's Deemed-university counselling for the management/NRI tiers and KEA for the 12 government-quota seats notified for 2025-26. What is informally called 'direct admission' is simply the management/NRI tier at the notified fee, allotted on NEET merit through MCC; the college does not allot these seats itself.
What was the NEET cutoff for JNMC Belagavi?
In KEA's CET-2024 Round 2 publication, JNMC Belagavi's government/state-quota General Merit MBBS seat (code M032) closed at NEET All-India rank 14,570, with category closings such as 3B 18,619, 3A 19,405, 2A 26,261, SC 74,227 and ST 87,667. The management and NRI seats go through MCC Deemed counselling, which publishes round-wise allotments rather than one closing-rank sheet — check mcc.nic.in for the current round.
How many MBBS seats does Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi have?
The NMC-recognised MBBS intake is 200 (archival record: recognised for the increase from 150 to 200, with annual renewal for AY 2024-25). The NMC's UG seat matrix of 03.12.2025 shows 250 seats for AY 2025-26 but states verbatim that the increase 'is subject to review of the outcome of court/CBI case', so 250 is conditional. Within the intake, KAHER notified 12 KEA government-quota seats for 2025-26; the rest fill through MCC Deemed counselling.
Is JNMC Belagavi the same as KLE's new medical college in Hubballi?
No. KLE/KAHER runs two separate NMC-coded medical colleges: Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi — NMC code KA/026/P/4, established 1963, the KAHER flagship covered on this page — and a much newer KLE medical college in Hubballi with its own NMC code and its own fee/cutoff rows. Different city, different code, different founding year; every figure on this page is tagged to KA/026/P/4 (Belagavi) only.
Is Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College recognised by the NMC?
Yes. The NMC archival record shows MBBS as Recognised — 'for 150. Recognized for increase of seats from 150 to 200. Annual renewal permission granted for 200 MBBS seats for AY 2024-25.' Established in 1963 (NMC year of inception), JNMC is one of India's oldest private medical colleges; its long-standing MD/MS programmes are likewise recognised, while several newer DM/M.Ch programmes and recently added seats carry 'Permitted' or newly-approved status in the NMC record pending recognition.
Which university is JNMC Belagavi affiliated to?
JNMC is the founding constituent college of the KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER), Belagavi — a deemed-to-be-university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, sponsored by the KLE Society (established 1916). KAHER is NAAC-accredited at A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.39 (third cycle; certificate dated 22 February 2022, valid to 21 February 2027). Because the university is deemed, MBBS management/NRI admissions run through MCC's Deemed-university counselling.
What are the MD/MS (PG) fees and stipend at JNMC Belagavi?
KAHER's PG fee notification of 29/09/2025 prices year-1 management seats by speciality: Rs 33,82,000 for MD General Medicine, MD Radiodiagnosis, MD Dermatology and MS Orthopaedics; Rs 30,30,000 for MS OBG, MD Paediatrics and MD Anaesthesiology; Rs 27,90,000 for MS General Surgery, MS ENT, MS Ophthalmology, MD Psychiatry and MD Pulmonary Medicine; Rs 11,44,000 for MD Pathology; Rs 2,80,000 for community/forensic/pharmacology; and Rs 27,500 for pre-clinical MD courses. All PG students draw a monthly stipend of Rs 56,250 (year 1), Rs 62,500 (year 2) and Rs 68,750 (year 3); DM/M.Ch residents draw Rs 68,750 to Rs 81,250.
What NEET-PG rank do I need for MD/MS at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi?
It varies by speciality, quota, round and year — there is no fixed cutoff. Computed from MCC's official NEET-PG 2025 deemed-quota allotment lists, the last paid-seat allotment at JNMC went to rank 17,332 for MD Radiodiagnosis, 21,430 for MD General Medicine, 35,298 for MS OBG, 49,912 for MS General Surgery and 58,013 for MS Orthopaedics (all in MCC Round 3), while MS ENT ran to 95,151 and MD Anaesthesiology to 1,22,582 in the Stray Vacancy Round, and pre/para-clinical seats closed far later (MD Pathology 1,53,285, MD Anatomy 2,26,865, MD Physiology 2,27,397). NRI-quota allotments ranged from rank 49,314 to 1,97,691. These are last-allotted ranks from official MCC lists — they shift every round and every year, so use them only as an indicative range.
What are the hostel fees at JNMC Belagavi?
Per the official KLES hostel fee card dated 17/06/2025: the Rani Channamma Ladies Hostel (2-sharing, non-attached) costs Rs 99,200 in the first year (Rs 200 admission + Rs 13,000 refundable caution + Rs 86,000 rent) and the Chanakya Boys Hostel Rs 1,08,200 (Rs 16,000 caution + Rs 92,000 rent). NRI UG hostel rooms (2-sharing, attached bath) total Rs 1,55,200. Room rent includes food — breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner — and allotment is by computerised randomisation.
Which hospital is attached to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College?
Clinical training runs on campus at the KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Charitable Hospital (the designated JNMC teaching hospital) and the KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital & Medical Research Centre — described by the official KLE Hospital site as a modern hospital of around 2,000 beds with 30 operating theatres and 300+ consultant doctors, one of North Karnataka's largest tertiary centres. It holds NABH accreditation (certificate H-2025-1593, 5th Edition, valid to 18 June 2029, listing 1,000 sanctioned beds in the accredited scope) and partners with the US-based Smile Train project for cleft surgery.
