MANAGEMENT

Not applicable in the legacy Karnataka KEA/COMEDK + Management-quota sense. Under Nitte (Deemed-to-be-University) from AY 2026-27, all UG seats are filled through NUCAT (General + Inclusivity + Tuition Fee Waiver), JEE Main (2% seats), and NRI/FN direct admission. There is no published 'management quota' percentage on the official admissions page.

FAQ

NMIT FAQs

Is NMIT Bangalore still affiliated to VTU in 2026?
NMIT operates on a dual track since October 2024. New cohorts enroll as a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed-to-be University), Mangaluru — with degrees awarded under Nitte DU. Legacy cohorts already enrolled under the VTU-affiliated autonomous track continue to graduate under VTU. Both tracks are fully accredited by NAAC A+, NBA Tier-1 and AICTE Platinum Grade, so candidates selecting either route get a premier institutional pedigree.
What is NMIT's highest and average placement package for 2024-25?
NMIT Yelahanka closed AY 2024-25 placements with a highest package of ₹58.93 LPA, an average of ₹6.06 LPA, an NIRF-reported median of ₹5.22 LPA, and 1,202 job offers from approximately 277 recruiters. Overall placement rate was 90-93%, with ECE and Civil both hitting 100% branch placement, Mechanical at 98.65%, EEE at 91.14%, ISE at 88.41% and CSE at 86.84%.
What is NMIT's KCET college code and 2025 closing ranks?
NMIT's KCET college code is E105. For the 2025 KCET General Merit final round, approximate closing ranks were CSE 12,227, AI & ML 13,000, ISE 14,000, ECE 18,500 and Civil 1,17,705. COMEDK UGET 2025 General Merit closed near CSE 6,400, ISE 6,500, AI & ML 7,075 and ECE 10,000. Candidates should verify exact category-wise cut-offs on kea.kar.nic.in and comedk.org.
Does NMIT accept JEE Main scores for B.Tech admission?
Yes. Since the October 2024 Nitte DU integration, NMIT accepts JEE Main scores for 2% of B.Tech seats under the Indian Nationals channel, with a minimum 75 NTA percentile for the 2026 intake. Admission priority within this channel is based on JEE Main rank and PCM Class XII aggregate; eligible applicants apply via the Nitte DU portal at nitte.edu.in along with the standard admission forms.
What are NMIT's 2025-26 B.Tech fees under KCET, COMEDK and Management Quota?
Indicative 2025-26 tuition is approximately ₹89,290 to ₹1,00,000 per year for the KCET General channel, ₹2,20,000 to ₹2,50,000 per year for the COMEDK channel across CSE/ECE/ISE, and Management Quota ranges from ₹3,50,000 per year for CSE, ₹2,50,000 per year for ECE to ₹1,50,000 per year for Mechanical/Civil. Hostel plus mess adds roughly ₹1,85,000 per year. Candidates should confirm the branch-wise official fee matrix for 2026-27 on nmit.ac.in before remitting.
Who is the current Principal of NMIT and when was the institute founded?
Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology was founded in 2001 by the Nitte Education Trust, Mangaluru, and named after Meenakshi Hegde, wife of trust founder the late Justice K.S. Hegde. Dr. H.C. Nagaraj has served as Principal since September 2003; he holds a PhD from IIT Madras in ECE and previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at VTU Belagavi.
What Centres of Excellence and research infrastructure does NMIT host?
NMIT runs nine Centres of Excellence spanning Small Satellites, Aerospace, Robotics & AI, Nanomaterials & MEMS, Cyber Security, Design Engineering & Process Simulation, Computational Fluid Dynamics, IoT and Defence Technology, alongside 14 multi-disciplinary labs. The student-led STUDSAT-1 PICO-class satellite was launched by ISRO's PSLV-C15 in 2010 and is recorded in the Limca Book of Records. The institute maintains over 400 active MoUs including international ties with North Dakota State University (USA) and the Indo-Korean Institute of Science & Technology.
