Is Akash Institute of Engineering and Technology (AIET) Bengaluru the same as Aakash Institute / Aakash BYJU'S coaching?
No. AIET in Devanahalli is a VTU-affiliated private B.E. college under the Akash Group of Institutions (Akash Educational & Development Trust) and has no relationship whatsoever with Aakash Educational Services / Aakash BYJU'S, the national NEET and JEE coaching chain. AIET awards a four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree; Aakash BYJU'S runs test-prep coaching. The two entities share a phonetic spelling but are different companies in different sectors.
Is AIET approved by AICTE and affiliated to VTU?
Yes. curriculum, examinations and the degree itself.
When was AIET established and has the first batch graduated?
AIET was established in 2023. The first B.E. cohort was admitted in AY 2023-24, which means the first graduating batch completes the four-year VTU programme around 2027. Any placement statistics attributed online to AIET Bengaluru for 2024, 2025 or 2026 are either fabricated or conflated with unrelated Aakash/Akash entities and should be ignored.
What is AIET's KCET college code and COMEDK code?
AIET's COMEDK UGET college code is E005, confirmed on the official COMEDK seat-availability, fee and cutoff PDFs for 2024-25 and 2025 (Akash Institute of Engineering and Technology, Devanahalli, Bengaluru Rural). The KEA KCET 2026 participating-colleges code must be looked up directly from KEA's 2026 participating-colleges PDF at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in because only the PGCET codes are published on the AIET footer. The KEA PGCET codes are MBA B097 and MCA C550.
Which B.E. branches does AIET offer?
AIET offers nine B.E. specialisations: Computer Science & Engineering, CSE (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning), CSE (Cyber Security), CSE (Data Science), standalone Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence & Data Science, Information Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The AICTE-sanctioned 2025-26 per-branch intakes include 60 seats for CSE-AIML, 30 for CSE-Cyber Security and 30 for CSE-Data Science; full per-branch figures for the remaining branches are listed in the AIET Mandatory Disclosure PDF.
Does AIET have NAAC accreditation or an NIRF rank?
Not yet. AIET is expected to become eligible for first-cycle accreditation and ranking evaluations after 2027.

What is the B.E. fee at AIET?
Under the COMEDK quota, published 2024-25 tuition fees were approximately ₹2.37 lakh per year for CSE; ₹2.05 lakh for CSE-AIML, CSE-Cyber Security, CSE-Data Science, standalone AIML and ISE; ₹1.97 lakh for ECE; and ₹1.70 lakh for Mechanical Engineering, plus a ₹20,000 university fee component. The 2025-26 COMEDK structure is released via COMEDK's annual notification. The KEA-quota KFRC 2025-26 branch-wise fee must be verified directly from kea.kar.nic.in. Management-quota fees are not disclosed online and must be negotiated with the AIET College AndFees counsellor.
Does AIET offer M.Tech or PhD programmes?
AIET does not presently offer M.Tech programmes — neither akashiet.com's course list nor the COMEDK directory lists any M.Tech tracks at AIET — and it does not have a VTU-recognised PhD research centre on its published list. AIET's postgraduate offerings are limited to MBA (admitted via Karnataka-PGCET, KMAT, CAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, XAT or GMAT under code B097) and MCA (primarily Karnataka-PGCET, code C550, approved intake 60 seats).
How do I apply for admission to AIET?
For B.E. via government quota, register for KCET (KEA) — the 2026 exam is on 23 and 24 April 2026 — and participate in KEA counselling at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in using AIET's KCET participating-colleges code. For the private quota, register for COMEDK UGET on 9 May 2026, clear the counselling rounds and pick AIET under COMEDK code E005. Management and NRI quota applications are filed directly at akashiet.com's admissions portal or at the AIET College AndFees counsellor. Postgraduate applications for MBA and MCA follow the Karnataka PGCET 2026 schedule — ME/M.Tech on 23 May 2026, MCA/MBA on 24 May 2026, registration open till 8 April 2026 — or the alternate MBA entrance tests listed above.
