NMIT Management Quota Fees 2026-27
Updated 11 Jun 2026Reviewed by Amrit Ashu11/11 fee rows source-linked
NMIT Bangalore became a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed to be University) in October 2024, so 2026-27 B.Tech seats are filled through NUCAT 2026, JEE Main (2% of seats) and direct NRI admission — there is no KEA-allotted vs management split and no published management-quota percentage. What aspirants call the 'management quota fee' at NMIT is the institute's official published annual branch fee (General Category), and our table matches that PDF rupee-for-rupee, from Rs 1.75 lakh/yr (Civil/EEE/Mechanical) to Rs 4.5 lakh/yr (CSE/ISE/AIML), plus a Rs 10,000/yr exam fee. Every figure links to its official source; anything NMIT does not publish — like a management-seat percentage — is shown as not published, never guessed.

How management quota admission works at NMIT
NUCAT 2026 cycle (per nucat.nitte.edu.in, checked 11 June 2026): registration opened 4 December 2025; test windows ran February, April and May 2026; final results were announced 7 June 2026, so admission and seat-allotment conversations are live right now. Direct/NRI admission proceeds on inter-se merit alongside; NMIT publishes no separate 'management quota round' calendar — high-demand branches (CSE/ISE/AIML) fill fastest after each result wave.
- Confirm the route — NMIT no longer admits via KCET or COMEDK
Since becoming a Nitte (Deemed to be University) constituent in October 2024, NMIT fills 2026-27 B.Tech seats through NUCAT 2026, JEE Main (2% of seats, minimum 75 NTA score) and direct NRI admission. If a counsellor offers you an 'NMIT management quota seat', the underlying admission still happens through one of these three official routes.
- Register on the NUCAT portal (or use your JEE Main score)
NUCAT 2026 registration opened 4 December 2025 on nucat.nitte.edu.in, with test windows in February, April and May 2026 and final results on 7 June 2026. JEE-route candidates need a minimum 75 NTA score (85+ with 80% PCM qualifies for Merit Scholarship seats). NRI/Foreign National/PIO/OCI candidates are admitted on inter-se Class 12 PCM merit with sponsor documents.
- Verify the official branch fee before any money conversation
Open NMIT's official Annual Fee Structure 2026-27 PDF and find your branch: Rs 1,75,000/yr (Civil, EEE, Mechanical) up to Rs 4,50,000/yr (CSE, ISE, AIML), plus Rs 10,000/yr exam fee collected with tuition. If you have 80%+ PCM and a strong NUCAT rank, ask about the lower published Scholarship-category fee (e.g. CSE Rs 2,40,000/yr) before accepting a General-category quote.
- Complete document verification at the CollegeAndFees counsellor
Carry originals plus two attested copies of the marks cards and transfer certificate (full checklist below). Inclusivity-category candidates additionally need study certificates proving 7 years of schooling in India outside Karnataka; NRI-sponsored candidates need the sponsor's passport, visa, residence proof and notarized relationship/sponsorship certificates.
- Pay only the institution, against an official receipt
Pay tuition and exam fee directly to the institution's official account through the official payment channel, collect a receipt for every rupee, and get the refund policy in writing before paying. Hostel (Rs 1.0-1.3 lakh/yr room + Rs 55,000/yr mess + Rs 40,000 refundable caution deposit) and transport are billed separately.
- NUCAT 2026 Rank Card / JEE Main 2026 Score Card (if applicable)
- Class 10 Marks Card (original + 2 attested copies)
- Class 12 Marks Card (original + 2 attested copies)
- Transfer Certificate from the institution last attended (original + 2 attested copies)
- Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended (original)
- Migration Certificate from the Board last studied (original, for non-PUE candidates)
- Study Certificate(s) from head of institution(s) (original, for Inclusivity-category candidates)
- Physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner (original)
- Blood group certificate (original)
- Aadhaar card copy of the student
- Recent colour photographs, white background — 5 passport size and 5 stamp size
- For NRI category, additionally: sponsor's valid passport and visa, residence proof, employment certificate, and notarized relationship and sponsorship certificates
Published fees vs counsellor-quoted totals — what is actually official
What NMIT publishes: the official Annual Fee Structure for B.Tech Programs 2026-27 lists one annual tuition figure per branch in three columns — General Category (Rs 1,75,000 to Rs 4,50,000 a year), a lower Scholarship Category for NUCAT toppers with 80%+ PCM, and an NRI Category — plus a Rs 10,000 exam fee collected each year with tuition. Hostel is published separately on the official hostel fee chart (room Rs 1.0-1.3 lakh/yr by block, mess Rs 55,000/yr, refundable Rs 40,000 caution deposit). Our fee table above prints those published General-category figures and nothing else.
Why counsellor-quoted totals can differ: for high-demand branches like CSE, ISE and AIML, third-party agents sometimes quote bundled 'packages' that add service charges, 'blocking fees' or a so-called donation on top of the published tuition. No NMIT document we can cite contains any donation component, and we will not print unsourced street prices. If a quote is higher than the official PDF figure for your branch, the difference is the agent's margin or an off-book demand — ask for it in writing on institute letterhead and watch it disappear.
What the law says: charging capitation is prohibited under the Karnataka Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1984, and under AICTE/UGC norms that govern deemed-university admissions. An unreceipted cash demand has no legal standing and leaves you with no protection if the seat falls through. Every rupee you pay should land in the institution's account against an official receipt.
Our policy is sourced-or-null: every number on this page links to an official NMIT/Nitte document, and where the institute publishes nothing — like a management-quota seat percentage — we say 'not published' instead of inventing one. If you are quoted something different from this page, message us with the quote and we will tell you which part of it is documented.
NMIT management quota — questions parents ask
Does NMIT actually have a management quota for B.Tech 2026-27?
Not in the classic Karnataka sense. NMIT became a constituent college of Nitte (Deemed to be University) in October 2024, so it no longer has KEA/KCET government seats with a separate management block. Its official admissions page lists exactly three routes for 2026-27: NUCAT 2026 (General, Inclusivity and Tuition Fee Waiver categories), JEE Main (2% of seats, minimum 75 NTA score) and direct NRI admission. What counsellors market as the 'NMIT management quota' is direct admission through these institute-controlled routes at the published fee.
How is the NMIT management-quota fee different from the KCET or COMEDK fee?
From 2026-27 there is no KCET or COMEDK fee at NMIT, because the institute left KEA/COMEDK counselling when it joined Nitte DU — the legacy subsidised CET-quota fee of earlier years no longer applies to new admissions. There is now one published fee structure: General Category Rs 1,75,000-4,50,000 a year depending on branch, a lower Scholarship Category (e.g. CSE Rs 2,40,000/yr) for NUCAT toppers with 80%+ PCM, and an NRI Category (e.g. CSE Rs 5,00,000/yr).
What is the management-quota (direct admission) fee for CSE at NMIT?
Rs 4,50,000 per year — the official published General Category annual fee for Computer Science in NMIT's 2026-27 fee structure PDF — plus a Rs 10,000 exam fee collected each year. ISE and AIML are also Rs 4,50,000/yr; AI & Data Science is Rs 4,00,000/yr. If the published annual fee held constant, four years of CSE tuition would total about Rs 18 lakh plus Rs 40,000 in exam fees, though the institute may revise fees in later years.
What does 4 years at NMIT cost in total, including hostel?
Using only published 2026-27 rates: tuition Rs 7 lakh (Civil/EEE/Mechanical) to Rs 18 lakh (CSE/ISE/AIML) over four years, plus Rs 40,000 exam fees, plus hostel at Rs 1.0-1.3 lakh/yr for the room and Rs 55,000/yr mess — roughly Rs 6.2-7.4 lakh over four years — and a one-time refundable Rs 40,000 caution deposit. That puts the realistic all-in range at about Rs 13.6 lakh for the lowest-fee branches to Rs 26 lakh for CSE with hostel, assuming fees are not revised. Transport is extra.
When do NMIT direct-admission rounds open and close?
NMIT publishes no separate management-quota calendar. The cycle follows NUCAT 2026: registration opened 4 December 2025, test windows ran in February, April and May 2026, and final results were announced on 7 June 2026 — so June-July is when admission offers, fee payment deadlines and any leftover-seat conversations happen. High-demand branches like CSE, ISE and AIML fill fastest after each result wave, so direct-admission aspirants should engage the CollegeAndFees counsellor early in the cycle rather than waiting for a 'last round'.
Is paying a donation at NMIT legal? Will I get a receipt for it?
Capitation fees are prohibited by the Karnataka Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1984, and by AICTE/UGC norms — which is exactly why off-book 'donations' are demanded in cash without receipts. NMIT's official published documents contain no donation component for 2026-27: the fee PDF lists only annual tuition by category plus the Rs 10,000/yr exam fee. Pay only receipted amounts into the institution's account; an unreceipted payment gives you zero protection if the seat falls through.
What documents do I need for NMIT direct admission?
Per the official admissions page: NUCAT 2026 rank card or JEE Main 2026 scorecard (if applicable), Class 10 and Class 12 marks cards (originals + 2 attested copies each), transfer certificate, conduct certificate, migration certificate (non-PUE boards), physical fitness and blood group certificates, Aadhaar copy, and 5 passport-size plus 5 stamp-size photographs. NRI-category candidates additionally need the sponsor's passport, visa, residence proof, employment certificate and notarized relationship and sponsorship certificates.
