The hospital is NABH-accredited (certificate H-2024-1455, valid November 2024 to November 2028) with 750 sanctioned beds; the college's NMC disclosure distributes 434 beds across wards (including a 116-bed critical-care complex with MICU, NICU, PICU and a 30-bed emergency), while college pages variously describe a 650- and 900-bed facility to be augmented to 1,350 beds — the figures conflict and all are cited. How many MBBS and PG seats does CDSIMER have?
200 MBBS seats from AY 2025-26 — the NMC MARB letter of 09-09-2025 raised the intake from 150 (some college pages still say 150; the NMC letter and seat matrix govern). PG: 13 MD/MS disciplines totalling 47 seats — MD Pathology and MD Community Medicine (4 each, started 2024-25) plus 11 clinical disciplines newly permitted for 2025-26: General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Anaesthesiology, Orthopaedics, Radio Diagnosis and Paediatrics (4 each), Dermatology, ENT and Ophthalmology (3 each) and Psychiatry (2). There are no DM/MCh courses yet.
Is CDSIMER recognised by the NMC? Which university is it under?
CDSIMER's MBBS is PERMITTED, not yet recognised — the college operates under the original Letter of Permission of February 2020 and annual NMC renewals (the NMC record marks the course 'Permitted'). This is normal for a new college: the first batch (2020-21) began the compulsory rotating internship in May 2025 per the DSU stipend notification, so it completes around mid-2026, and degree recognition is applied for after the first batch graduates.
