State-quota and Institutional-quota (I.Q.) seats are kept separate: I.Q. seats close at far higher ranks (around 98,000) than State OPEN (around 43,000). Leftover private seats after the CAP stray rounds are filled through the college-run Institute Level Round (ILR), which publishes no centralized candidate-wise list, so all figures here are from the CAP rounds. Separately, the college's own Cut-Off Report tabulates closing NEET marks by category (e.g. OPEN 636, OBC 634, SC 557 in 2024-25) — those are NEET scores, not ranks, and must not be confused with the All-India Ranks above.

BAVMC Pune is the first medical college of the Pune Municipal Corporation, located at Mangalwar Peth, Prabodhankar Thakare Chowk — about 1.5 km from Shaniwarwada and 2 km from Pune Station. Teaching is anchored on the attached Kamla Nehru Hospital (KNH), a multispecialty tertiary-care hospital run by the PMC and one of the largest PMC hospitals. The college has the full set of pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical departments (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, plus the clinical specialities), with dedicated dissection, histology, biochemistry and skills laboratories. A new, larger campus is under construction at the Naidu Hospital Campus, Sangamwadi. An 'Antarang' student mental-health cell has been operational since 5 May 2025.

Is BAVMC Pune recognised by the NMC?
It is Permitted, not yet Recognised. MBBS runs under an NMC Letter of Permission and is on annual renewal — the NMC MARB 2025 disclosure records the status as 'Applied for Fourth Renewal'. Formal recognition is considered only when the first batch reaches the final MBBS examination, which is normal for a college that admitted its first batch in AY 2021-22.
Is BAVMC Pune the same as the Atal Bihari Vajpayee colleges in Delhi or Haryana?
No. Bharatratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College, Pune (NMC code MH/008/P/3, MUHS-affiliated, run by PMC-MET) is a distinct college. It is not the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences & Dr. RML Hospital, New Delhi, nor the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College, Faridabad (Haryana) — those are different institutions in different states with different counselling and fees.
What scholarships and service bond apply at BAVMC Pune?
