These are the last-allotted (maximum) NEET-UG 2025 All-India Ranks per category, computed from the official Maharashtra CET Cell CAP candidate-wise selection lists for college code 1157 — using the Stray CAP Round 1 list (the final, cumulative, private-inclusive state allotment). State-quota and Institutional-quota (I.Q.) seats are kept separate: I.Q. seats close at far higher ranks (around 98,000) than State OPEN (around 43,000). Leftover private seats after the CAP stray rounds are filled through the college-run Institute Level Round (ILR), which publishes no centralized candidate-wise list, so all figures here are from the CAP rounds. Separately, the college's own Cut-Off Report tabulates closing NEET marks by category (e.g. OPEN 636, OBC 634, SC 557 in 2024-25) — those are NEET scores, not ranks, and must not be confused with the All-India Ranks above.

Scholarships

Scholarships

Eligible reserved-category and EWS/EBC/SEBC students can claim the Government-of-Maharashtra freeship/scholarship by applying on the MAHADBT portal with a valid income/eligibility certificate — this reimburses or waives part of the fee (the subsidised category amounts of Rs 4,09,090 and Rs 68,181 are the outcome of this waiver, not a separate college fee). Students availing this reimbursement accept a one-year rural/tribal Medical Officer social-service bond with the Government of Maharashtra. No college-funded merit scholarship is published.

Infrastructure & facilities

Labs, library, sports, hostels & campus facilities

BAVMC Pune is the first medical college of the Pune Municipal Corporation, located at Mangalwar Peth, Prabodhankar Thakare Chowk — about 1.5 km from Shaniwarwada and 2 km from Pune Station. Teaching is anchored on the attached Kamla Nehru Hospital (KNH), a multispecialty tertiary-care hospital run by the PMC and one of the largest PMC hospitals. The college has the full set of pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical departments (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine, plus the clinical specialities), with dedicated dissection, histology, biochemistry and skills laboratories. A new, larger campus is under construction at the Naidu Hospital Campus, Sangamwadi. An 'Antarang' student mental-health cell has been operational since 5 May 2025.

Research & rankings

Centres, patents, grants & MoU partners

BAVMC Pune is a young (first MBBS batch AY 2021-22), civic-body teaching institution, so it is not yet ranked by NIRF and is not NAAC-accredited (a cited absence, not an omission — recognition and accreditation typically follow the first graduating batch). Faculty research output is built around the attached Kamla Nehru Hospital and the NMC-mandated Family Adoption Programme, which gives undergraduates community-based learning across adopted families. The college publishes annual result analyses and NMC MARB disclosures on its official site. As a Pune Municipal Corporation initiative, the college's distinctive feature is its civic/municipal ownership — it is the PMC's first medical college, operated through the PMC-MET trust on a permanently un-aided basis.

FAQ

Bharatratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College, Pune FAQs

What are the MBBS fees at Bharatratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College, Pune for 2025-26?
The 85% State-quota (CAP) MBBS seats pay the FRA-approved fee of Rs 7,50,000 per year for AY 2025-26 (Tuition Rs 6,81,819 + Development Rs 68,181). Reserved and EWS/SEBC students claim a fee waiver through the Government-of-Maharashtra MAHADBT scholarship instead of paying the full amount. There is a one-time refundable deposit of Rs 30,000.
What is the management quota fee at BAVMC Pune?
Within the 15% Institutional quota, the college's FRA-approved fee sheet sets a Management seat fee of Rs 22,50,000 per year for AY 2025-26 (about 3x the Rs 7,50,000 base fee). Management seats are still allotted on NEET-UG merit through the Maharashtra CAP institutional-quota rounds — there is no donation or direct-admission route.
What is the NRI quota fee at BAVMC Pune?
The NRI seat fee within the Institutional quota is Rs 37,50,000 per year for AY 2025-26 (the 5x FRA cap on the base fee). NRI seats require the sponsor's NRI documents and relationship/embassy certificate per FRA-NRI norms and are allotted through the Maharashtra CAP, not by the college directly.
Is there direct admission to MBBS at BAVMC Pune without NEET?
No. Every MBBS seat — State, Institutional management and NRI — requires a valid NEET-UG score and an allotment through the Maharashtra State CAP. There is no direct, donation or capitation admission, and no admission without NEET.
What is the NEET cut-off for BAVMC Pune?
From the official Maharashtra CET Cell CAP selection lists (college code 1157, Stray CAP Round 1, AY 2025-26), the last-allotted NEET-UG 2025 All-India Ranks were roughly: OPEN around 42,900, EWS around 37,300, OBC around 46,900, SEBC around 49,900, SC around 1,44,000 and ST around 3,40,000. Institutional-quota (I.Q.) seats closed much later, around an All-India Rank of 98,000.
How is admission to BAVMC Pune done — through state counselling or MCC?
Admission is through the Maharashtra State CET Cell Centralised Admission Process (CAP) on NEET-UG merit. BAVMC Pune is a MUHS-affiliated, non-deemed college, so it does NOT take part in MCC All-India Quota counselling — there is no MCC/AIQ route here. Leftover seats after the CAP stray rounds go to the college-run Institute Level Round.
Is BAVMC Pune a government or a private college?
It is a civic-body medical college — the first medical college of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), run through the Pune Municipal Corporation - Medical Education Trust (PMC-MET) on a permanently un-aided basis (per the Maharashtra Government GR dated 16.03.2022). It is not a private family/society trust, and it is not a fee-subsidised government college; it fills seats via Maharashtra CAP at the FRA-approved fee.
How many MBBS seats does BAVMC Pune have?
100 MBBS seats, per the NMC Final Seat Matrix (as on 03.12.2025) for AY 2025-26. They are split 85 State quota and 15 Institutional quota. There are no postgraduate (MD/MS) or super-speciality (DM/MCh) seats.
Is BAVMC Pune recognised by the NMC?
It is Permitted, not yet Recognised. MBBS runs under an NMC Letter of Permission and is on annual renewal — the NMC MARB 2025 disclosure records the status as 'Applied for Fourth Renewal'. Formal recognition is considered only when the first batch reaches the final MBBS examination, which is normal for a college that admitted its first batch in AY 2021-22.
What is the eligibility for MBBS at BAVMC Pune?
A candidate must qualify NEET-UG, meet the NMC eligibility (Physics, Chemistry, Biology with English in Class 12 and the category-wise NEET percentile), and register for the Maharashtra MBBS CAP. State-quota seats additionally require Maharashtra domicile/nativity; Institutional and NRI seats follow the CET Cell and FRA eligibility rules.
What is the total MBBS course cost at BAVMC Pune?
MBBS is 4.5 years of tuition plus a one-year internship. At the AY 2025-26 fees, the State-quota tuition works out to roughly Rs 33-34 lakh over the course (Rs 7,50,000 per year), a Management seat to roughly Rs 1.0 crore (Rs 22,50,000 per year) and an NRI seat to roughly Rs 1.7 crore (Rs 37,50,000 per year), excluding the refundable deposit, hostel and mess. These are AY 2025-26 figures; AY 2026-27 fees await FRA notification.
Is BAVMC Pune the same as the Atal Bihari Vajpayee colleges in Delhi or Haryana?
No. Bharatratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical College, Pune (NMC code MH/008/P/3, MUHS-affiliated, run by PMC-MET) is a distinct college. It is not the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences & Dr. RML Hospital, New Delhi, nor the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College, Faridabad (Haryana) — those are different institutions in different states with different counselling and fees.
