Deccan College of Medical Sciences is one of Telangana's oldest private medical colleges and one of only four Muslim-minority medical colleges in the state's KNRUHS system. Its founding is a piece of Hyderabad history the college documents on its own timeline: Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, as chairman of the Darussalam Educational Trust, sought permission for a minority medical college in 1984; the Andhra Pradesh Government's G.O.
