KNRUHS does not publish a consolidated cutoff table, so every figure above is a LAST-ALLOTTED NEET rank computed from KNRUHS's official college-wise allotment lists for Deccan College of Medical Sciences (UG code DCMS(091); the PG lists use a different code, DCMS(061) — the two must not be conflated). The lists are cumulative rosters, so the final round in which the college appears is the complete picture: UG Cat-A filled all 90 seats by Phase 2 (the Mop-up roster of 28.10.2025 is unchanged and the college is absent from the CQ Stray list), and UG MQ filled all 60 seats by the Stray round of 18.11.2025 (absent from Additional-Stray). Because Deccan is a Muslim-minority college, the CQ matrix uses MM-G/MM-F (Muslim Minority General/Female) columns rather than the OC/BC/SC/ST grid used for non-minority colleges, and every UG allotment carries the MSM (Muslim-minority) tag. Note the real inversion in the MQ data: the 6 open (all-India) Cat-B seats closed at far better ranks (88,406) than the 31 Telangana-local Cat-B seats (2,91,007) — local Cat-B competition is thinner. UG CAP = children of armed forces personnel (single allotment). PG CQ figures are non-service (NS) candidates only — two in-service allotments (MD General Medicine rank 1,52,072 and MD Radio-diagnosis 78,095, separate in-service merit) are excluded; the PG CQ final roster had 36 allotments across 14 courses and the PG MQ final roster 27 allotments across 14 courses. PG MQ categories per the KNRUHS PG MQ prospectus: MQ-1 management, MQ-2 NRI and MQ-3 institutional quota. Management and NRI seats have no published 'cutoff' — these are allotment-list readings, not official cutoff publications.

The campus sits at Kanchanbagh in south-east Hyderabad, anchored by the palatial Nawab Lutf-ud-Dowlah building at Zafargarh where the first anatomy classes were held in January 1985 — the college was inaugurated on Republic Day, 26 January 1985, and the address is still 'Nawab Lutf ud Dowlah Palace, Zafargarh, DMRL X Road, Kanchanbagh'. The on-campus Owaisi Hospital & Research Centre (inaugurated 1996) is the primary teaching hospital, with the heritage Princess Esra Hospital in the old city as the second teaching site. Facilities photographed on the college's own pages include the central library reading hall and a dedicated journals room, tiered lecture halls, a fully equipped gymnasium and an auditorium-and-sports-centre block beside the hospital lawns. The facilities page counts 950 hostel accommodations with 790 students living on campus ('83% of the campus accomodation is occupied'). The college also runs an ECFMG page for the international pathway and an AEBAS faculty-attendance dashboard under the NMC system.

Deccan College of Medical Sciences is one of Telangana's oldest private medical colleges and one of only four Muslim-minority medical colleges in the state's KNRUHS system. Its founding is a piece of Hyderabad history the college documents on its own timeline: Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, as chairman of the Darussalam Educational Trust, sought permission for a minority medical college in 1984; the Andhra Pradesh Government's G.O. No. MS 575 of 7 August 1984 granted it; Osmania University recognised the college by letter on 5 December 1984; and the college was inaugurated on Republic Day, 26 January 1985, with the first anatomy classes — seven students initially — held in the palatial Nawab Lutf-ud-Dowlah building at Zafargarh. The NMC's own pro-forma pins the Establishment LOP date as 01.01.1985, the year stated here. The Medical Council of India granted permanent recognition in November 1992, paraclinical PG courses began in 1998 and clinical PG courses in 2003-2006, and today the college carries 76 PG and 6 super-speciality seats alongside its 150 MBBS seats. The college states it is governed by the trust under Article 30(1) of the Constitution and that 'although primarily a Muslim Minority medical college, the College also admits non-minority students'. Its NMC-University disclosure lists 174 research-publication entries in the live bibliography (updated 17.06.2025), including faculty-authored books; the college publishes a faculty-books page, ongoing-projects and research-facilities pages, the Deccan Gazette newsletter, and its student magazine heritage dates to Odyssey in 1995. The NMC faculty disclosure lists 312 teaching staff across designations (45 professors, 45 associate professors, 106 assistant professors, plus residents, tutors and demonstrators — a computed count of the official table, read 12.06.2026). University-results disclosure (updated 10.08.2023): the 2023 regular-batch pass rates ran 82% in I MBBS, 83% in II MBBS, 75% in Final MBBS Part-I and 97% in Final MBBS Part-II. The college and both teaching hospitals received Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Certificates of Appreciation dated 15.08.2023.

FAQ

Deccan College of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad FAQs

What is the management quota fee for MBBS at Deccan College of Medical Sciences?
Rs 13,90,000 per year (year 1 and every year — Telangana collects MBBS tuition in 5 equal instalments across the 4.5-year course, per the KNRUHS circular of 21.04.2026). The figure comes from G.O.Ms. No.132 HM&FW dated 18.08.2023, a Deccan-specific order that re-fixed the Cat-B fee for the 2023-26 block; the original G.O.Ms. No.106 annexure had printed Rs 12,50,000, so listings still showing Rs 12.5 lakh are out of date. The KNRUHS MQ seat-matrix note names G.O.Ms. No.132 for Deccan explicitly. A non-refundable KNRUHS MQ registration fee of Rs 40,000 applies, and the tuition is paid by demand draft in the Principal's name on reporting.
What is the NRI quota fee at Deccan College of Medical Sciences?
No actual NRI price is published anywhere official, so none is claimed here. The government order caps Cat-C/NRI tuition at 'Up to 2 times of Cat-B' — on Deccan's G.O.132 Cat-B of Rs 13,90,000 that is a ceiling of Rs 27,80,000 per year, not a price. Deccan has 23 NRI seats; the KNRUHS MQ registration fee for Cat-C is Rs 70,000. If NRI seats remain unfilled, KNRUHS may allot them to management-quota merit-list candidates in the final phase — at the same NRI-category tuition.
What was the NEET cutoff for Deccan College of Medical Sciences?
KNRUHS publishes allotment lists rather than a cutoff table, so the honest figures are last-allotted NEET-UG 2025 ranks computed from the official college-wise rosters. In the final Cat-A (Competent Authority Quota) roster — all seats minority-reserved — Muslim Minority General closed at rank 1,28,932 (best allotment 45,328) and Muslim Minority Female at 96,115 (best 12,571). In the final management-quota roster, Cat-B Telangana-local closed at 2,91,007, the 6 open all-India Cat-B seats at a much tougher 88,406, and NRI at 6,15,939. All 150 seats filled within KNRUHS counselling in AY 2025-26.
What does Deccan College of Medical Sciences being a Muslim-minority college mean for admission?
The college states it is governed by the Darussalam Educational Trust 'under the provision of Article 30(1) of the Constitution of India' and that 'although primarily a Muslim Minority medical college, the College also admits non-minority students.' In KNRUHS counselling this works as a reservation with a backfill rule the MQ prospectus states verbatim: 'Seats in Un-aided Minority Medical Colleges are reserved for Muslim Minority Candidates only. In case Muslim Minority Candidates are not available the seats may be filled up with non-minority students up to maximum of 30% after Mop up Phase of counseling.' The Competent Authority Quota seats are likewise reserved for Muslim-minority candidates, with the CQ seat matrix using Muslim Minority General/Female columns instead of the usual OC/BC/SC/ST grid. A minority certificate is the qualifying document. In AY 2025-26 every Deccan allotment carried the Muslim-minority tag — no non-minority backfill was needed.
How many MBBS seats does Deccan College of Medical Sciences have?
150 sanctioned MBBS seats (NMC Final UG Seat Matrix, 03.12.2025). The KNRUHS AY 2025-26 split is unusual because of the minority structure: 90 Cat-A Competent Authority Quota seats (60% — Muslim Minority General 56, Female 29, PwD 4, CAP 1), 37 Cat-B management seats (31 Telangana-local + 6 open) and 23 Cat-C/NRI seats — a 60/24.7/15.3 split rather than the roughly 50/35/15 pattern at non-minority private colleges. The arithmetic closes exactly: 90 + 37 + 23 = 150, and all 150 were filled in AY 2025-26.
Is there direct admission to MBBS at Deccan College of Medical Sciences?
No. Every seat — including all 37 management-quota and 23 NRI seats — is allotted by KNRUHS on NEET-UG merit through its published counselling rounds; the final rosters account for all 150 seats. There is no MCC/All-India Quota at this college and no college-side channel: KNRUHS affiliation orders direct that fees beyond the government-notified limits must not be collected for any seat. Treat any agent promising a Deccan seat outside NEET and KNRUHS counselling with extreme caution.
What is the government-quota (Cat-A) fee at Deccan College of Medical Sciences?
Rs 60,000 per year under G.O.Ms. No.106 (block 2023-26) — unchanged by Deccan's G.O.132, which re-fixed only the Cat-B fee. Add-ons at admission: Rs 12,000 KNRUHS university fee on allotment. Note the discontinuation bond in the CQ prospectus: candidates who quit after the last free-exit date owe Rs 20,00,000 under the bond they submit at admission. Deccan's 90 Cat-A seats are reserved for Muslim-minority candidates in KNRUHS CQ counselling.
What PG (MD/MS) courses does Deccan College of Medical Sciences offer?
76 PG seats across 19 MD/MS courses plus one Diploma in Psychological Medicine seat (NMC PG seat matrix, 30.01.2026) — the larger programmes are MS Obstetrics & Gynaecology (9), MD Anaesthesiology (8), MD Radio-diagnosis (7), MS General Surgery (7) and MD General Medicine (6) — plus 6 super-speciality seats (DM Neurology 3, DM Cardiology 1, M.Ch Plastic Surgery 1, M.Ch Urology 1). PG admissions run on NEET-PG through KNRUHS, where the college's PG code is DCMS(061) (different from the UG code DCMS(091)). PG tuition is 'as notified by the Government of Telangana' — no college-wise PG fee order is published, so no PG fee figure is claimed. Last-allotted NEET-PG 2025 ranks (non-service, state quota): MD Radio-diagnosis 11,156, MD General Medicine 11,538, MD Paediatrics 19,521, MS OBG 34,770, MS General Surgery 41,904.
Which hospitals are attached to Deccan College of Medical Sciences?
Two Darussalam Educational Trust teaching hospitals: Owaisi Hospital & Research Centre, built 1993-96 beside the college at Kanchanbagh, and the heritage Princess Esra Hospital in Hyderabad's old city, a teaching affiliate since 1986-87. Official bed figures differ by source and date, so they are attributed rather than added up: 1,010 total beds with 50 emergency beds as reported to the NMC (read June 2026); 700 + 700 in the college's 2022 MARB pro-forma; and 1,050 on owaisihospital.com's own counter. The NMC clinical-load table computes to about 7 lakh outpatient visits and 92,746 admissions a year. Both hospitals hold Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY Certificates of Appreciation dated 15.08.2023.
What stipend does Deccan College of Medical Sciences pay interns and residents?
Per the NMC's national stipend list (college row reported 2024): the college pays interns about Rs 26,000 a month against the Telangana state rate of Rs 25,906; PG junior residents about Rs 58,300 (state rate Rs 58,289); and super-speciality residents about Rs 92,600 (state rate Rs 92,575) — i.e. at or marginally above the state benchmark at each level. Separately, the KNRUHS PG management-quota prospectus requires MD/MS/Diploma candidates to serve one year as Senior Resident in the institution where they trained.
What does MBBS at Deccan College of Medical Sciences cost in total?
No official total is published, and Telangana's structure makes per-year figures the honest unit: tuition is collected over the 4.5-year course in 5 equal instalments (KNRUHS circular, 21.04.2026), with no front-loading. The notified per-year tuition for the 2023-26 block is Rs 60,000 (Cat-A), Rs 13,90,000 (Cat-B, per G.O.132) and at most 2x Cat-B for NRI. One-time extras: Rs 12,000 university fee (CQ) or Rs 40,000/70,000 MQ registration, plus hostel/mess costs that the college does not publish. Important: these are block-2023-26 figures confirmed for AY 2025-26 — the TAFRC opened the 2026-29 fee cycle in September 2025 and the new government order had not issued as of 12.06.2026, so AY 2026-27 fees await a new GO.
Is Deccan College of Medical Sciences safe — what student-safety committees exist?
The college publishes dedicated pages for an Anti-Ragging Committee, an Internal Complaints Committee (women's safety/POSH), a Grievance Redressal Committee, a Mental Health and Wellbeing Committee, a Prahari (Sentinel) Committee, a vigilance programme and a student counsellor. Its NMC disclosure describes Anti-Ragging Week observances directed at 'Zero Tolerance to Ragging and creating Ragging Free Campus', and its MARB pro-forma reported nil grievances for 2019-2021. The national UGC anti-ragging helpline and the antiragging.in portal apply in addition, as at every NMC-recognised college.
