The college's NMC mandatory-disclosure proforma records the Year of Inception as January 2022, when Rajalakshmi Health City was set up as a private medical institution; the attached hospital was registered on 08.02.2023 and clinical operations predate MBBS. MBBS commenced under a Letter of Permission dated 23.10.2024 (first batch 2024-25), and the NMC final seat matrix of 03.12.2025 raised the intake to 200 for AY 2025-26. Annaii is the medical arm of Rajalakshmi Health City, part of the Rajalakshmi Institutions group. It is a self-financing college affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University (TNMGRMU), Chennai (institution code 1035), and admits MBBS students only through the Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee on NEET-UG merit - this is a NEET-only MBBS college, and the group's engineering institutions are an entirely separate vertical. MBBS is currently PERMITTED under a Letter of Permission dated 23.10.2024 (100 seats for AY 2024-25), not yet recognised; the NMC final seat matrix of 03.12.2025 then raised the AY 2025-26 intake to 200.
