Question 1

What is the tuition fee range at S-VYASA University Bangalore for 2026-27?

Accepted Answer

For 2026-27, tuition at S-VYASA University Bengaluru typically ranges from approximately Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh per year for most undergraduate programmes, depending on the specific course. Yoga Sciences, Naturopathy, and Holistic Health Sciences programmes sit at the lower end of the band. Biosciences, Biotechnology, and Computer Applications programmes sit in the mid band. Postgraduate and M.Phil programmes are priced separately. Residential charges at Prashanti Kutiram are additional. S-VYASA is a Deemed-to-be University and sets its own fee structure; the current schedule is published annually on svyasa.edu.in before admissions open. Applicants should confirm the exact 2026-27 fee for their chosen programme on the official admissions page before paying any amount.

Question 2

What are the hostel and mess charges at S-VYASA Prashanti Kutiram campus?

Accepted Answer

Hostel and mess charges at S-VYASA University Prashanti Kutiram (Jigani) campus for 2026-27 are approximately Rs 60,000 to Rs 1 lakh per year combined for most residential UG programmes, depending on room type and meal plan. The campus operates a vegetarian, sattvic menu that aligns with the yoga-centric curriculum, and most residential programmes include structured morning yoga practice as part of the daily schedule. Separate hostels are provided for male and female students, each with furnished rooms, basic amenities, and 24x7 security. Since Prashanti Kutiram is a residential academic campus, most UG students are expected to stay on-site. Final hostel tariff for 2026-27 is published at enrolment on svyasa.edu.in and is subject to annual revision.

Question 3

Question 4

How do I apply for admission to S-VYASA University Bangalore for 2026-27?

Accepted Answer

Admission to S-VYASA University Bengaluru for AY 2026-27 is entirely through the university's own application process on svyasa.edu.in — S-VYASA does not participate in KCET or COMEDK UGET counselling. Prospective students complete the online application form on the official admissions portal, upload class 12 (or equivalent) marksheets, national-level test scores if applicable (NEET for Naturopathy tracks, CUET or JEE Main where referenced), category certificate, domicile proof, and other supporting documents. The university conducts a combination of university-administered entrance screening, a personal interview, and in some programmes a short yoga-practice orientation. Merit lists and offer letters are published on the portal; applicants confirm admission by paying the seat-confirmation fee within the stipulated window. Application windows typically open March-April 2026.

Question 5

International applicants apply through a separate international-admissions track with additional document requirements including equivalence certification, passport, and visa documentation.

Question 6

Is S-VYASA University a traditional engineering college like VTU colleges?

Accepted Answer

No. S-VYASA University Bengaluru is a Deemed-to-be University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, and its flagship academic focus is Yoga, Naturopathy, Ayurveda, Integrative Medicine, Holistic Health Sciences, Psychology, Management, and Biosciences. It is not a traditional B.Tech engineering college like VTU-affiliated institutions such as RVCE, BMSCE, PESCE, or NIE Mysore. S-VYASA does not participate in KCET or COMEDK counselling, does not confer VTU degrees, and does not offer mainstream B.E. or B.Tech programmes in Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, or ECE at the scale of a VTU college. Technology-adjacent programmes exist (for example Computer Applications, Biotechnology) but are delivered under the university's yoga-centric academic framework rather than as standalone engineering tracks.

Question 7

What programmes does S-VYASA University Bangalore offer?

Accepted Answer

UG offerings include B.Sc. Yoga, B.Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS), B.Sc. Computer Applications, B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.A. Psychology, and B.A./B.Com Management streams. PG offerings include M.Sc. Yoga, M.Sc. Biotechnology, MBA, M.A. Psychology, MPH Public Health, and M.Phil/PhD tracks in Yoga Studies and Integrative Medicine. Exact 2026-27 programme list and intake are published on svyasa.edu.in.

Question 8

What accreditations and recognitions does S-VYASA University hold?

Accepted Answer

S-VYASA University is recognised as a Deemed-to-be University by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, notified by the Ministry of Human Resource Development in 2002. The university holds NAAC A+ grade in the latest accreditation cycle, UGC Section 2(f) and 12(B) recognition, and DSIR-SIRO research-institute status. S-VYASA participates in the NIRF framework under the Overall and specialised category bands. The university has a strong research record with funded projects from DST, ICMR, CSIR, AYUSH, and international collaborators including the US National Institutes of Health, and sustained peer-reviewed publication in international journals on yoga, meditation, and integrative-medicine research. Current accreditation validity should be cross-checked on the NAAC and UGC portals.

Question 9

What is campus life like at S-VYASA Prashanti Kutiram?

Accepted Answer

Prashanti Kutiram, the main S-VYASA campus at Jigani in southern Bengaluru, is a 90-acre residential academic sanctuary designed around the yoga-centric curriculum. Campus life integrates structured morning and evening yoga practice, meditation, sattvic vegetarian meals, academic coursework, research projects, and supervised clinical training at the in-house Arogyadhama yoga therapy hospital. Students live in on-campus hostels with furnished rooms and 24x7 security. Cultural and festival calendars blend traditional Indian festivals with academic events, guest lectures, and international yoga conferences. The campus hosts regular visits from international yoga scholars, researchers, and practitioners. The residential model is materially different from the urban commuter-college experience typical of engineering colleges and is a core feature for which students choose S-VYASA.

Question 10

What is the admission cutoff at S-VYASA University for 2026-27?

Accepted Answer

S-VYASA University does not publish cutoffs in the KCET or COMEDK rank-band format, since admissions are conducted through the university's own entrance and merit process rather than state counselling. Instead, the university uses a combination of class 12 aggregate marks, university-administered entrance performance, and interview score to prepare a merit list for each programme. For popular programmes like BNYS (Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences), Yoga Sciences, and integrated PhD tracks, competition is typically strong and candidates with higher class 12 aggregates (65 per cent and above) combined with clear demonstrated interest in yoga or wellness sciences tend to be shortlisted. AY 2026-27 merit-list and intake details will be published on svyasa.edu.in after the application window closes.
