Is CMR University Bangalore the same as CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT)?
No. CMR University (CMRU) is a private state university chartered in 2013 under Karnataka Act No. 45 of 2013, with campuses at HRBR Layout, OMBR Layout and Lakeside. CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) is a separate VTU-affiliated autonomous engineering college at AECS Layout. Both sit under the CMR Group of Institutions sponsored by the CMR Jnanadhara Trust, but they are independent institutions with separate degrees, admissions, fees and rankings. If you are applying for a multi-disciplinary degree (B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Des, LLB, BBA, MBA under one university), choose CMRU; if you want a VTU engineering degree specifically, CMRIT is the separate institution to consider.
