Is RV University Bangalore recognised by UGC?
Yes. RV University is a unitary private state university established by the Karnataka State Legislature through Karnataka Act No. 11 of 2019, notified through Government Order No. ED/45/URC/2021 on 16 June 2021, and is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f). The School of Law is additionally approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), and engineering and management programmes have AICTE clearances where required.
What is the difference between RV University, RV College of Engineering and RVCE?
RV University (RVU) and RV College of Engineering (RVCE) are two legally distinct institutions both promoted by the same parent trust — Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST), founded in 1940. RVCE is an autonomous engineering college affiliated to VTU and was established in 1963. RV University is a multidisciplinary unitary private state university established by Karnataka Act No. 11 of 2019 and offers its own degrees across 11 schools. They share the historic RV Vidyanikethan campus on Mysuru Road but operate with separate admissions, accreditations and governing bodies.
