Overview
About Sri Sairam (SAIRAM)
Sri Sairam College of Engineering is an institution in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Sri Sairam College of Engineering offers 7 programmes at undergraduate level. These include B.E. Computer Science & Engineering, B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering, B.E. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, B.E. Information Science & Engineering and B.E. Computer Science & Engineering (IOT and Cyber Security including Blockchain Technology), among others. Sri Sairam College of Engineering runs two on-campus hostel blocks — a Boys Hostel and a Girls Hostel — each with a resident Deputy Warden. Rooms are three-sharing with individual cot, study table, chair and a lockable wardrobe; the girls' hostel adds attached bathrooms and hot water. Common facilities include 24-hour power backup, solar water heaters, high-speed Wi-Fi, a reading room, TV lounge, multi-gym and indoor games (carrom, table tennis), with volleyball, kabaddi and kho-kho courts adjacent. An attached mess serves both blocks (veg and non-veg). The hostel enforces a 22:30 gate-closing time with Sunday outings on written warden permission, and both blocks are declared ragging-free. The official /hostel page does not publish a numeric bed capacity; the 2024-25 fee structure lists a single hostel charge of Rs.95,000 per annum without a per-gender or per-room-type split. Research at Sri Sairam College of Engineering is coordinated by a dedicated R&D Cell and IPR Cell (chaired by Principal Dr. B. Shadaksharappa). The college holds VTU-recognised research centres in Mechanical, CSE, ECE and Chemistry, runs the 24x7 Sri Leo Muthu Innovation Centre (SLMIC) and an industry-partnered Centre for Drones Innovation and Technology (CDIT), and was rated 4-star by AICTE's Institution's Innovation Council (IIC). In AY 2023-24 the institution had 32 VTU-recognised research guides, 50 UGC-listed journal publications and 12 functional MoUs; NIRF 2026 reports sponsored-research receipts of Rs.69.34 lakh for 2024-25. The campus extends over about 25 acres.
