All ranks are NEET All-India ranks of the LAST candidate allotted to Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences (KNRUHS UG code PRTM(049), PG code PRTM(053)) — computed by us from the official KNRUHS college-wise allotment lists, since KNRUHS publishes allotments rather than a cutoff table. UG Cat-A: the Mop-up list is the final convener state (the CQ Stray list contains no Prathima rows); all 125 Cat-A seats filled, worst allotted rank 3,27,126 (BC-A). UG Cat-B/C: the Stray Vacancy list is final; all 125 management-side seats filled — note the striking split where the 13 open Cat-B seats closed at 1,19,298 while the 74 Telangana-local Cat-B seats ran to 4,09,410 and the 38 NRI seats to 11,36,785. NRI seats fill late and deep — NEET qualification is still mandatory, and allotment is by NEET merit among MQ applicants, so no rank inside these ranges assures a seat in any future year. PG: per-specialty last-allotted ranks from the final CQ Stray (26.02.2026) and MQ Stray (28.02.2026) rounds; specialties with no allotment in the final round (e.g. ENT and Biochemistry on the MQ side, Microbiology and Physiology on the CQ side) are omitted rather than estimated.

Scholarships

No institutional MBBS scholarship scheme is published on the college's official site, and none is claimed here. The economics of the seat categories themselves do the work in Telangana: Cat-A (convener) tuition is state-regulated at Rs 60,000 a year, while Cat-B and Cat-C are the management-priced tiers under G.O.Ms. No.106. Students should verify any Telangana government fee-reimbursement eligibility for their category with the state authorities directly.

Research & rankings

Centres, patents, grants & MoU partners

Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) at Nagunur, Karimnagar is one of north Telangana's largest private medical colleges — established in 2001 under the Prathima Educational Society (the college's own MSR pro-forma gives 2002 as the year of inception, with the first MBBS Letter of Permission for 150 seats dated 12.11.2002 — both official versions are shown rather than silently picking one), affiliated to Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Warangal, and grown from 150 MBBS seats to 200 (LoP of 15.06.2015) and then 250 — the largest private MBBS intake outside the Hyderabad metro in the NMC's final AY 2025-26 seat matrix. Its distinctive marks are unusually concrete for a district-town college: the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, inaugurated the hospital's Thalassemia and Sickle Cell centre on 22 December 2018 (documented with a photo gallery on the college's own site); the college's homepage slider shows a '24th annual day' photograph with an upload path of December 2025, indicating the celebration in December 2025; and it hosts PRAANA, a national undergraduate medical research-academics-and-networking conference (March 2026 edition, two days with its own e-brochure). Research output is documented in the MSR pro-forma's multi-page faculty publication list spanning pharmacology, dermatology and other departments, a dedicated List of Research Publications page, and a PG Research page; a third-year student took 3rd place in the oral research paper presentation at the CONNAISSANCE 2025 international UG conference at JIPMER per the official achievements page. The official teaching-staff page lists department-wise faculty across 20 departments from Anatomy to Respiratory Medicine, including Dentistry. The same achievements page records the leadership: Chairman Shri Srinivarao Boinipally felicitating Dean Dr. Achanta Vivekanand, and Director Dr. Harini Boinipally awarding graduation certificates. One caution belongs in the open: the NMC Stipend Detail List entry for this college mis-states the affiliating university as 'Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences' — an Andhra Pradesh university; that is a clerical error in the NMC list, and the KNRUHS affiliation is confirmed by the NMC's own college pro-forma, the college site and every KNRUHS counselling document.

FAQ

Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences, Karimnagar FAQs

What is the MBBS fee at Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences Karimnagar for 2025-26?
Three categories, per G.O.Ms. No.106 (28.07.2023) and the college's own fee notice dated 20.09.2025: Cat-A (KNRUHS convener quota) Rs 60,000 a year, Cat-B (management quota) Rs 12,00,000 a year, Cat-C (NRI) Rs 24,00,000 a year — all year-1 (annual) tuition figures. Per the KNRUHS circular of 21.04.2026, the annual fee is multiplied by 4.5 years and collected in 5 equal instalments, so a Cat-B student pays Rs 54,00,000 total tuition in five instalments of Rs 10,80,000.
What is the management quota fee at Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences?
Rs 12,00,000 per year (year-1 figure) for Category-B seats — fixed by the Telangana government in G.O.Ms. No.106 for the 2023-26 block and confirmed by the college's own 20.09.2025 fee notice. The college has 87 Cat-B MBBS seats: 74 reserved for Telangana-local candidates (the 85% local rule of G.O.Ms. No.130) and 13 open to candidates from anywhere in India. Allotment is by KNRUHS Management Quota web counselling on NEET-UG merit, and the college's UG admissions page additionally asks Cat-B students to execute a banker's security bond covering the course fee.
What is the NRI quota fee at Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences Karimnagar?
Rs 24,00,000 per year (year-1 figure) for the 38 Cat-C/NRI seats, per the college's fee notice of 20.09.2025. The government order itself frames Cat-C as a cap — 'up to 2 times of Cat-B' — and this college charges the full cap. Eligibility follows the KNRUHS MQ prospectus: NRI or NRI-sponsored candidates, where the sponsor must be a blood relative (father, mother, brother, sister, uncle or aunt) with an embassy-issued NRI status certificate, sponsorship declaration, bank passbook and passport copies.
Is direct admission possible at Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences Karimnagar?
No. Every one of the 250 MBBS seats — including all management (Cat-B) and NRI (Cat-C) seats — is allotted by KNRUHS through its own web counselling on NEET-UG merit. The KNRUHS Management Quota prospectus is explicit that merit lists of eligible NEET-qualified candidates decide allotment, and there are no caste reservations inside the management quota. A 'direct admission' promise that bypasses KNRUHS counselling has no official basis; what genuinely exists is the management-quota route at the management-quota fee, entered through KNRUHS registration.
What is the NEET cutoff for Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences Karimnagar?
Computed from the official KNRUHS college-wise allotment lists for AY 2025-26 (final rounds): in the convener (Cat-A) quota the last Open Competition allotment was NEET All-India rank 1,83,481, with reserved categories running deeper — BC-D 1,87,759, BC-B 2,02,138, BC-E 2,12,232, ST 2,48,444, SC sub-categories up to 2,88,916, BC-C 3,01,430 and BC-A 3,27,126. These are last-allotted ranks in the Mop-up round, not a published cutoff table, and they shift every year.
What NEET rank gets a management quota or NRI seat at Prathima Karimnagar?
In the final (Stray Vacancy) round of KNRUHS Management Quota counselling for AY 2025-26, the 13 open Cat-B seats at this college closed at NEET rank 1,19,298, the 74 Telangana-local Cat-B seats at 4,09,410, and the 38 NRI (Cat-C) seats at 11,36,785 — computed from the official KNRUHS allotment list. NRI seats fill latest and deepest, but NEET qualification remains mandatory and allotment is strictly by merit among MQ applicants, so these ranges describe last year's fill, not any promise for the next.
How many MBBS seats does Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences have, and how do they split?
250 MBBS seats per the NMC final seat matrix of 03.12.2025 — flat from AY 2024-25 and the largest private MBBS intake in Telangana outside the Hyderabad metro. The KNRUHS AY 2025-26 matrices split them as 125 Cat-A (convener quota at Rs 60,000 a year), 87 Cat-B (management quota at Rs 12,00,000 a year: 74 Telangana-local + 13 open) and 38 Cat-C/NRI (Rs 24,00,000 a year). All fee figures are year-1 annual tuition.
Is Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences Karimnagar the same as the Prathima group's other medical college near Warangal?
No — the Prathima group runs a second, entirely separate medical college in the Warangal urban area, with its own KNRUHS counselling code, a smaller 150-seat MBBS intake and a lower Cat-B fee row in the same government order. This page covers only the Karimnagar college on Nagunur Road: KNRUHS counselling code PRTM(049), 250 MBBS seats, Cat-B Rs 12,00,000 a year. When reading any KNRUHS allotment list or fee table, match the code PRTM(049) — fee and cutoff numbers for the two Prathima colleges are not interchangeable.
What MD/MS (PG) courses does Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences offer?
139 NMC-listed MD/MS seats across 19 specialties — the largest blocks being MD General Medicine (21), MS General Surgery (20), MD Anaesthesiology (19), MD Paediatrics (12), MS Orthopaedics (12), MS OBG (12) and MD Radio-diagnosis (10). PG admission runs on NEET-PG through KNRUHS, which lists the college as PRTM(053): convener (CQ) counselling plus a PG Management Quota with sub-categories MQ1 (all-India), MQ2 (NRI) and MQ3 (institutional) — 73 of the 139 seats sat on the AY 2025-26 PG MQ matrix. There are no DM/MCh super-specialty seats. Current PG tuition is 'as notified by the Government' per the KNRUHS PG prospectus; the only PG fee document on the college site is a stale AY 2021-22 notice, so no current PG fee figure is printed here.
What does the full MBBS course cost at Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences?
Tuition only, computed exactly as the KNRUHS circular of 21.04.2026 prescribes (annual fee x 4.5 years, collected in 5 equal instalments): Cat-A Rs 2,70,000 total (instalments of Rs 54,000), Cat-B management quota Rs 54,00,000 total (instalments of Rs 10,80,000), Cat-C/NRI Rs 1,08,00,000 total (instalments of Rs 21,60,000). Because the instalments are equal by rule, there is no front-loaded first-year payment. Hostel and mess charges are not published officially and are extra.
What will the Prathima Karimnagar MBBS fee be for AY 2026-27?
Not yet decided by the government. The current fees come from G.O.Ms. No.106, which fixes the 2023-26 block ending with AY 2025-26. The Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee opened the 2026-27 to 2028-29 fee-determination cycle on 25.09.2025, and as of 12.06.2026 the resulting new fee GO had not been issued. Any '2026-27 fee' figure circulating before that GO exists is speculation; this page will carry the new numbers once the government notifies them.
Who is eligible for MBBS admission at Prathima Institute of Medical Sciences?
NEET-UG qualification is mandatory for every category (50th percentile General/EWS, 40th percentile SC/ST/OBC per the KNRUHS prospectus). Cat-A seats follow Telangana's competent-authority rules and reservation categories. In the management quota, 85% of Cat-B seats require Telangana local-candidate status under G.O.Ms. No.130, while the remaining Cat-B seats and the NRI category are open to candidates from across India (NRI seats need the blood-relative sponsor documentation). Admissions happen only through KNRUHS online counselling — register separately for the convener and management-quota notifications.
