KNRUHS publishes no consolidated cutoff table — every figure above is a LAST-ALLOTTED NEET-UG rank computed from the official KNRUHS college-wise allotment lists for the Nova section (KNRUHS counselling code NOVA(079)), using the final round in which the college appears. Cat-A figures come from the Mop-Up cumulative list of 28.10.2025 (125 admissions) plus the Stray list of 17.11.2025 (one further BC-B allotment at 2,20,307); Cat-B/NRI figures come from the MQ Stray cumulative list of 18.11.2025 (125 admissions: 74 Cat-B local, 13 Cat-B unreserved, 38 NRI), with the Additional Stray list of 20.11.2025 adding two NRI allotments (ranks 8,20,911 and 11,77,354). KNRUHS determines merit by NEET-UG rank (CQ prospectus, merit-lists section), so the printed RANK column is the NEET-UG rank. First-year (AY 2024-25) Cat-A rows reflect the college's Mop-Up-phase entry after its September-2024 Letter of Permission; the 2024-25 MQ final cumulative roster was not published in the same college-wise form, so first-year MQ last-ranks are not shown (cited absence). Read all figures as allotment-list readings, not an official cutoff publication.

Infrastructure & facilities

Labs, library, sports, hostels & campus facilities

The campus sits at Jafferguda village in Abdullapurmet mandal, Rangareddy district — the Hayathnagar belt on Hyderabad's eastern outskirts (PIN 501512); KNRUHS lists the college as 'NOVA, Hayathnagar, RR' in its counselling documents. The college and the campus hospital occupy adjacent multi-storey blocks photographed on the college's own pages, with a fleet of Nova college buses running community-medicine outreach to nearby mandals. Published clinical facilities include a 24/7 casualty department with 30 floor beds with central oxygen supply and suction, an emergency operating theatre, a 64-slice Siemens CT scanner, a 24/7 central laboratory and a blood bank, with OPD across eleven departments. Separate boys' and girls' hostels with in-house catering, a central library and sports spaces are described on the official site; the college states the campus is still adding facilities, with PG courses and a nursing college listed as future projects.

Research & rankings

Centres, patents, grants & MoU partners

Nova Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre at Jafferguda, Abdullapurmet (the Hayathnagar belt of Rangareddy district, east of Hyderabad) is one of Telangana's newest medical colleges — and its early history is unusually well documented. Run by the Nova Educational Society, established in 1998 by Dr. M. Vijaya Nirmala (a former RTI Commissioner for the combined Andhra Pradesh and Telangana), the college was first REFUSED permission: MARB issued a Letter of Disapproval on 06.07.2024, a first appeal failed on 31.07.2024, and only the 2nd Appeal Committee — through a Ministry of Health & Family Welfare order dated 30.09.2024 — directed the Letter of Permission for 150 MBBS seats for AY 2024-25. That late start is why KNRUHS counselled Nova's first seats only in the Mop-Up phase of 2024-25; the college's own portal-frozen reported lists show all 150 first-year seats filled. In AY 2025-26 the intake then doubled to 250 through two mid-counselling KNRUHS enhancement notices (150 to 200 on 25.09.2025; 200 to 250 at Mop-Up), making Nova a 250-seat college in its second year per the NMC final UG seat matrix of 03.12.2025. KNRUHS granted provisional affiliation in October 2024 (Procs. No. UMB063/KNRUHS/AC5/2024) with an explicit fee-cap clause that college fees 'should not exceed the limits specified by the State Government/KNRUHS'. The college's NMC minimum-standards disclosure page publishes a teaching-staff roster of close to 300 names (professors, associate and assistant professors, and resident doctors) and signed orders for its Anti-Ragging, Gender Harassment, Ethics, College Council, Curriculum, Medical Education Unit and Pharmacovigilance committees. The honest flip side of a 2024 establishment: no university examination results yet (the first batch is in its second year), no intern batch and therefore a blank stipend row in the NMC's national stipend list, no NIRF rank, no NAAC grade, no notable-alumni list — and, most consequentially for families, no published government fee order for its Cat-B/Cat-C seats. Postgraduate courses and a nursing college are listed by the college among future projects.

FAQ

Nova Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre FAQs

What is the management quota (Cat-B) fee for MBBS at Nova Institute of Medical Sciences?
No official rupee figure exists yet — and that is the most important thing to know about this college's fees. Telangana fixes private-college MBBS fees by Government Order: the operative order for AY 2025-26, G.O.Ms. No.106, HM&FW (C1) Dept dated 28.07.2023, prices 27 colleges in its Annexure-1, and Nova — permitted only in September 2024 — has no row in it. The KNRUHS management-quota counselling notices that filled Nova's own Cat-B seats cite no Nova-specific fee order either. Aggregator sites circulate unofficial per-year figures; no government document corroborates any of them, so this page prints no Cat-B amount. The official anchors that do exist: a one-time KNRUHS university fee of Rs 40,000 for Cat-B and the Rs 20,00,000 discontinuation bond. Get the tuition figure in writing from KNRUHS or the college before paying anything.
How many MBBS seats does Nova Institute of Medical Sciences have?
250 for AY 2025-26. The college started with 150 seats in 2024-25 under its NMC Letter of Permission, and the NMC final UG seat matrix of 03.12.2025 records 250 for AY 2025-26. The extra 100 seats arrived mid-counselling in two KNRUHS-notified steps — enhanced from 150 to 200 seats (CQ second-phase notification, 25.09.2025), then from 200 to 250 seats (Mop-Up notifications of 25.10.2025 and 03.11.2025), with 50% of the enhanced seats shown under Competent Authority Quota and 50% under Management Quota. The college's own admissions page states the resulting split: 125 Cat-A seats (50%), 87 Cat-B seats (35%) and 38 Cat-C/NRI seats (15%). Note: the KNRUHS affiliated-colleges register still shows a stale intake of 150.
What is the Cat-A (convener quota) fee for MBBS at Nova Institute of Medical Sciences?
Cat-A tuition is Rs 60,000 per year (year 1; the same figure applies in later years). That is the tuition-fee table printed in the KNRUHS Competent Authority Quota web-options notifications — including the very phases that counselled Nova's seats — for all private medical colleges, alongside the CQ prospectus reference to G.O.Ms. No.106. Add a one-time KNRUHS university fee of Rs 12,000 payable at allotment. Per the KNRUHS circular of 21.04.2026, MBBS tuition is collected for 4½ years in 5 equal instalments, so there is no front-loaded first year. A Rs 20,00,000 discontinuation bond applies if a student leaves after the free-exit date.
What was the NEET cutoff for Nova Institute of Medical Sciences under the convener (Cat-A) quota?
Computed from the official KNRUHS college-wise allotment lists for AY 2025-26 (the Mop-Up cumulative list of 28.10.2025, plus one Stray-phase allotment), the last-allotted NEET-UG 2025 ranks at Nova were: OPEN 2,04,771 · BC-A 3,41,068 · BC-B 2,20,307 (Stray) · BC-C 3,37,022 · BC-D 2,13,372 · BC-E 2,21,643 · SC-G1 3,11,079 · SC-G2 3,12,829 · SC-G3 2,77,401 · ST 2,70,745 · CAP 3,15,222. In the first year (AY 2024-25, Mop-Up entry), OPEN closed at 2,01,744 and BC-A at 3,35,664. KNRUHS determines Competent Authority Quota merit by NEET-UG rank, so these are NEET-UG ranks as printed in the allotment lists — read them as last-allotted readings, not a published cutoff table.
What was the NEET cutoff for management quota (Cat-B) and NRI (Cat-C) seats at Nova?
From the KNRUHS Management Quota college-wise allotment lists for AY 2025-26 (Stray cumulative list of 18.11.2025, the round at which all 125 MQ admissions stood): Cat-B Local (the 85% Telangana-local sub-quota) last allotted NEET-UG rank 5,54,545 · Cat-B Unreserved (15% all-India) 1,50,987 · Cat-C/NRI 13,19,000. The Additional Stray list of 20.11.2025 added two further NRI allotments at ranks 8,20,911 and 11,77,354. Per the KNRUHS MQ prospectus and web-options notifications, admission to NRI seats is made on the basis of NEET-UG-2025 ranks of eligible NRI candidates — the same rank-based KNRUHS counselling system as Cat-B; the NRI closing rank is deep because the NRI pool is smaller and NRI-eligible candidates fill fewer seats. All management-quota and NRI seats at Nova are allotted through KNRUHS web counselling, so these official lists are the complete cutoff trail.
Is there direct admission to MBBS at Nova Institute of Medical Sciences?
No. Every MBBS seat at Nova — including all 87 management-quota (Cat-B) and 38 NRI (Cat-C) seats — is allotted through KNRUHS web-based counselling on NEET-UG merit. Telangana runs the management quota itself: candidates apply on the KNRUHS MQ portal, a state merit list is prepared from NEET-UG ranks, and the university publishes every allotment college-wise. The college's own admissions page says admission criteria are 'as per regulations of KNR University of Health Sciences'. A NEET qualification is mandatory for every category, and no agent can lawfully place a student outside these KNRUHS lists — treat any such promise with extreme caution.
Is Nova Institute of Medical Sciences recognised by the NMC?
It is permitted, not yet recognised. The college operates under an NMC Letter of Permission for 150 MBBS seats for AY 2024-25, granted on the decision of the 2nd Appeal Committee conveyed by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare order dated 30.09.2024 — after MARB's initial Letter of Disapproval of 06.07.2024 was overturned on appeal. That appeals route is why Nova's first-year seats entered KNRUHS counselling only at the Mop-Up phase of 2024-25. A new medical college's MBBS degree is considered for recognition only when its first batch reaches the final examinations (around 2029-30 here). The NMC code is TS/056/P/4, verifiable on the college's NMC attendance-system (AEBAS) dashboard; the NMC College & Course Search backend was under maintenance when this page was verified in June 2026.
What is the NRI (Cat-C) quota and fee at Nova Institute of Medical Sciences?
Nova has 38 Cat-C (NRI) seats — 15% of its 250 intake. There is no official NRI fee figure for Nova: G.O.Ms. No.106 caps Cat-C at 'Up to 2 times of Cat-B' for the colleges listed in it, but Nova has no Cat-B row in that order, so neither the Cat-B base nor the Cat-C cap has been fixed for this college by any published government order. What is official: a one-time KNRUHS university fee of Rs 70,000 for Cat-C, NRI eligibility and documentation rules per the KNRUHS Management Quota prospectus, and the rule that leftover NRI seats may be offered to management-quota merit-list candidates at the NRI fee. In AY 2025-26 all 38 NRI seats were allotted, with two more NRI allotments in the Additional Stray round.
Does Nova Institute of Medical Sciences have MD/MS (PG) courses?
No. Nova has zero postgraduate seats: it does not appear in the NMC PG broad-specialty seat matrix (as on 30.01.2026) or the super-speciality matrix (as on 02.04.2026), and it has no entry in any KNRUHS PG counselling allotment list for AY 2025-26. That is expected for a college established in 2024 — PG approvals follow years after MBBS recognition. The college's own About page lists 'introduction of postgraduate courses in various medical streams' under future projects. MBBS (250 seats) is the only programme today.
What is the eligibility for MBBS admission at Nova Institute of Medical Sciences?
Qualify NEET-UG and enter KNRUHS counselling. Per the KNRUHS CQ prospectus, candidates must secure at least the 50th percentile in NEET-UG (40th percentile for SC/ST/BC, 45th for persons with disabilities under the general category), and merit position is determined by NEET-UG rank. Telangana local-status rules apply: Competent Authority Quota seats follow the state's reservation framework (OC/EWS/BC-A to BC-E/SC/ST plus PWD, CAP and PMC categories), and 85% of Cat-B management seats are reserved for Telangana local candidates under G.O.Ms. No.130 dated 27.09.2022, with the remaining 15% open to all-India candidates. Cat-A applications run on the KNRUHS CQ portal (tsmedadm.tsche.in) and Cat-B/C on the MQ portal (tspvtmedadm.tsche.in) when counselling windows open.
Which hospital is attached to Nova Institute of Medical Sciences?
The college's hospital page names its teaching hospital 'Keshava Rao-Nova General Hospital', while its medical-superintendent page calls the facility 'NIMI Hospital, Nova Medical College & Research Centre' — two names for the campus hospital on the same official site, which this page reports as published. No total bed count is published anywhere official; what the college does publish is a 24/7 casualty department with 30 floor beds with central oxygen supply and suction, an emergency operating theatre, a 64-slice Siemens CT scanner, a 24/7 central laboratory, a blood bank, and OPD services across General Medicine, Surgery, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, OBG, Ophthalmology, ENT, Psychiatry, Dermatology, TB & Chest and Dentistry. Bed-count figures circulating on aggregator sites are uncorroborated and not used here.
Is Nova Institute of Medical Sciences safe — are there anti-ragging committees?
Yes — the college publishes its statutory committees on its NMC minimum-standards disclosure page: an Anti-Ragging Committee, a Gender Harassment (internal complaints) Committee, an Ethics Committee, a College Council, a Curriculum Committee, a Medical Education Unit and a Pharmacovigilance Committee, each as a signed PDF order. Ragging is prohibited in all Telangana educational institutions under the KNRUHS admission rules, and the national UGC anti-ragging framework (the antiragging.in portal) applies in addition. The hostel pages describe CCTV surveillance and ID-card-based access control on campus.
