Is HKBK College of Engineering AICTE approved and NAAC/NBA accredited?
Yes. HKBK has held continuous AICTE approval since its founding in 1997 and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi under KEA/CET code E080.
Which B.E. branches and PG programmes does HKBK offer?
HKBK offers seven B.E. branches: Computer Science (CSE), Information Science (ISE), Electronics & Communication (ECE), Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI&ML), Mechanical (ME), Civil and Electrical & Electronics (EEE). PG programmes include a two-year MBA (Finance, Marketing, HR), M.Tech across CSE/ECE/Civil per VTU norms, and PhD via the VTU-recognised Research Centre. CSE intake has scaled from 120 (2015-16) to ~300 (2024-25); total UG intake is ~840.
What are HKBK's placement statistics?
HKBK's most widely reported cycle (2022-23) recorded approximately 96.3% placement of eligible B.Tech students with 250-375 recruiters visiting, ~1,100 offers and a highest CTC of ₹31.4 LPA (peaking at ₹32.4 LPA in subsequent reporting). The 2024-25 cycle reports highest packages of ₹16-32 LPA and average ₹3.5-6 LPA. Top recruiters include Amazon, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Bosch, Samsung, Adobe, Oracle, Cognizant, Capgemini, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, L&T, Dell, HCL, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, Siemens and Intel.
What entrance exams does HKBK accept for B.E. admission?
HKBK accepts KCET (KEA Bengaluru, college code E080) for the state quota, COMEDK UGET for the consortium quota and JEE Main scores under management-quota lateral channels. Religious-minority candidates can apply against the dedicated minority quota. M.Tech admissions take GATE or Karnataka PGCET; MBA admissions accept KMAT, PGCET, CAT or MAT followed by HKBK's GD-PI. PhD admissions follow VTU's Research Centre process.
What is the eligibility for B.E. admission at HKBK?
Candidates must have passed Class XII with Physics, Mathematics and one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or Computer Science as compulsory subjects. The minimum aggregate is 45% (40% for Karnataka SC/ST/OBC candidates) along with a valid KCET, COMEDK UGET or JEE Main rank. Religious-minority and Muslim-quota candidates are also eligible against the dedicated minority seat matrix.
What are the fees at HKBK College of Engineering?
Indicative tuition for CSE management quota runs ~₹2.83-3.25 lakh per year, while KCET-quota CSE seats fall to ~₹60,000-1 lakh per year depending on rank. The two-year MBA totals ~₹3.95-4.50 lakh, while hostel plus mess together is around ₹80,000 per year. These are substantially below the leading private engineering universities in Bengaluru such as RVCE, BMSCE, MSRIT and BMSIT.
What scholarships and fee-aid options are available at HKBK?
HKBK's religious-minority status unlocks several aid streams: 100% tuition waivers for high KCET ranks under the minority quota, KMDC (Karnataka Minorities Development Corporation) loans, ePASS reimbursements for SC/ST/OBC and minority candidates, and need-based aid through the management. Merit and excellence scholarships are also offered to top performers.
