Is Bangalore Technological Institute (BTI) the same as BIT Bangalore, BMS College of Engineering or Bengaluru Technological University?
No. BTI is a standalone VTU-affiliated B.E. college located at Kodathi Village on Varthur Hobli, established in 2010 under the Adithya Educational Trust. It is a distinct entity from Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) at V.V. Puram, from BMS College of Engineering, from BMS Institute of Technology & Management, and from any body styled "Bengaluru Technological University". The KCET code E-204 and COMEDK code E-020 uniquely identify BTI in the KEA and COMEDK counselling systems.
Is BTI approved by AICTE and affiliated to VTU?
Yes. BTI carries AICTE Permanent Institution ID 1-4077296, with a continuous record of seven Extensions of Approval from 2018-19 through 2024-25 (most recent EoA letter dated 17 May 2024) archived on the college's AICTE page, and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi, which supplies the four-year B.E. syllabus, examinations and the degree itself.

BTI's KCET/KEA college code is E-204 and its COMEDK UGET college code is E-020 — both codes are displayed on every page of the BTI website header and are used for seat allotment under KEA and COMEDK counselling, respectively. BTI does not presently operate M.Tech, MBA or MCA, so no PGCET code applies at the current time.

What is the B.E. fee at BTI?
For the 2025-26 session, KEA-quota (KCET) B.E. tuition at BTI is reported at ₹81,800 to ₹91,000 per annum (uniform across branches under the private-unaided non-minority category), plus roughly ₹20,000 in other fees. Branch-wise COMEDK-quota tuition is released via COMEDK's 2025-26 seat-availability and fee PDFs, and management-quota fees are not published on the college website and must be confirmed with the College AndFees counsellor.
Does BTI offer M.Tech, MBA, MCA or PhD programmes?
BTI does not currently offer M.Tech, MBA or MCA programmes — none of these appear on the 2024-25 AICTE EoA. The college website notes PhD programme-path information linked to VTU's research eligibility norms, but no department-wise VTU-recognised research centres are publicly enumerated at drafting.
How do I apply for admission to BTI?
For the B.E. government quota, register for KCET (KEA) — the 2026 exam is on 23 and 24 April 2026 — and participate in KEA counselling at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in under BTI's KCET code E-204. For the private quota, register for COMEDK UGET on 9 May 2026, clear the counselling rounds and pick BTI under COMEDK code E-020.
