For B.E. admission at BCET, candidates must have passed the 10+2 (PUC-II) examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics as the third subject. The minimum aggregate required is 45 percent (40 percent for Karnataka reserved categories). For the CSE (AI & ML) specialisation, candidates need an adequate mathematics and computing foundation as per VTU B.E. regulations. Lateral entry requires a Karnataka state diploma in an allied engineering branch plus DCET qualification.

BCET runs a dedicated Training and Placement Department that conducts regular recruitment drives and industry interaction programmes. Recent placement bands report a highest package in the order of approximately Rs 18 LPA, with an average placement package around Rs 6 LPA. BCET has structured residential infrastructure on its Hosur Road campus. Boys' hostels are organised in two blocks named Bhaskara and Visveshwara, while the girls' hostel is named Lilavati. The girls' block offers single and double-seater rooms with attached bathrooms, and the hostels provide 24-hour internet connectivity for pre-final and final-year students along with a vegetarian meal plan.
