FAQ
APSCE FAQs
When was APS College of Engineering (APSCE) founded and who runs it?
APSCE was established in 1997 on the Anantha Gnana Gangothri Campus at Somanahalli, Kanakapura Main Road, Bengaluru. It is operated by the A.P.S. Educational Trust — a registered public trust founded in 1935 by the late Prof. N. Ananthachar — and functions as a private self-financing engineering college affiliated to VTU Belagavi. Gemini reports Sri. A.R. Acharya as the current Chairman/President while the office confirms Dr. K.S. Anand as the 2025-26 Principal; aspirants should confirm the chair designation on the official site apsce.ac.in before formal correspondence.
What are APSCE's current accreditations and AICTE Permanent ID?
APSCE holds AICTE Permanent ID 1-4271031 and received its 2025-26 Extension of Approval on 05 April 2025 under File No. It carries NAAC B Grade with CGPA 2.42 on the four-point scale from its First Cycle dated 19 April 2022, valid until 18 April 2027. NBA Tier-II accreditation is active in 2025 for the Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering UG programmes.
Where is APSCE located and how big is the campus?
APS College of Engineering is located in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Which B.E. branches does APSCE offer in 2025-26 and what are the seat totals?
APSCE offers seven B.E. branches for AY 2025-26 with an aggregate sanctioned intake of approximately 360 seats: Computer Science & Engineering (120), Information Science & Engineering (60), Electronics & Communication Engineering (60), CSE — Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (30), CSE — Cyber Security (30), Civil Engineering (30) and Mechanical Engineering (30). The computing streams (CSE, CSE-AIML, CSE-Cyber Security, ISE) together account for roughly 240 of those seats and carry the highest competitive demand during counselling.
How does admission work — KEA and COMEDK codes, quota split?
Admission for B.E. runs through three parallel channels. Karnataka domicile candidates apply via KEA Karnataka CET under college option-entry code E034. All-India and Non-Karnataka candidates route through COMEDK UGET under college code E011. Management and NRI seats are filled directly by APSCE after the centralised rounds. The quota split is approximately 45% KEA / 30% COMEDK / 25% management-NRI. Minimum eligibility is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 45% aggregate (40% for Karnataka SC/ST/OBC categories); lateral entry for diploma holders is via Karnataka Diploma CET only.
What are APSCE's fees for 2025-26 across branches and quotas?
Government-quota tuition under KEA runs approximately Rs 98,984-1,07,000/year. COMEDK quota ranges Rs 1,80,000-2,40,000/year depending on branch. Management-quota annual tuition is Rs 1,40,000 for ECE, Rs 1,50,000 for CSE and ISE, and Rs 1,70,000 for CSE-AIML and CSE-Cyber Security. Non-Karnataka candidates pay Rs 2,00,000 + VTU fees. MCA/MBA fees follow KEA CET norms. On-campus hostel with food is Rs 80,000/year for both boys and girls blocks. Aspirants should confirm branch-wise published fees on apsce.ac.in before depositing any non-refundable amount.
What are APSCE's placement outcomes in 2023-24 and 2024-25?
Across the 2023-24 and 2024-25 placement cycles APSCE reported a highest package of approximately Rs 7.0 LPA (Delta X / TCS Digital), an average package of Rs 4.2-4.5 LPA, a median of Rs 3.8 LPA and a placement rate of roughly 75% of eligible students. Regular recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Tech Mahindra, Quest Global, 6D Technologies and TCS Digital. The computing branches (CSE, CSE-AIML, CSE-Cyber, ISE) historically deliver the bulk of offers; Civil and Mechanical placements remain comparatively lower, which has also affected NBA renewal timelines for those core-engineering UG programmes.
What PG and research programmes does APSCE offer?
APSCE runs an M.Tech in Digital Electronics & Communication with an approved intake of 18 seats, admitted via GATE and KEA PGCET. The college also offers MBA and MCA pathways through KEA PGCET/KMAT. Doctoral study is hosted through VTU-recognised research centres in Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Physics. Prospective research scholars should verify current guide availability and centre-level approvals on apsce.ac.in before submitting Ph.D. applications.
What are APSCE's signature events and industry tie-ups?
AKRUTHI is the college's annual inter-collegiate cultural-and-technical fest. Active industry MoUs include Toyota Kirloskar (for Mechanical), Oracle Academy, Texas Instruments and an ISRO linkage for projects, internships and faculty development. Student teams have recorded wins at Hack Arena, the NASA Space Apps Challenge and the Agri Hackathon, with regular participation in the Bengaluru Tech Summit and VTU athletics medals. The 1st-year B.E. 2025-26 inauguration featured an IISc chief guest, and the sports club and fitness centre were launched in the same academic year.
How do I avoid confusing APSCE with other APS-named institutions?
A.P.S. Educational Trust runs several institutions across Bengaluru, and aspirants frequently conflate them. APS College of Engineering (APSCE) is the Trust's sole degree-granting engineering arm and operates only on the 25-acre Anantha Gnana Gangothri Campus at Somanahalli on Kanakapura Road (PIN 560116) — roughly 26 km south of the city centre. APS Polytechnic, APS Arts, Commerce & Science College and other APS-branded schools in NR Colony Basavanagudi, Jayanagar or rural units are separate institutions under the same trust. Always confirm the apsce.ac.in domain, the COMEDK code E011 and the KCET code E034 before submitting any application fee.
