Overview
IIIT Allahabad and IIIT Hyderabad are two of the most reputed IIITs in India, both consistently ranking in NIRF top 100. IIIT-A is a centrally-funded Institute of National Importance under MeitY; IIIT-H is a deemed-university private autonomous institute with strong industry ties. Both offer BTech in CSE, IT, ECE plus dual-degree programs. Choice depends on your JEE Main / Advanced rank, research orientation, fee comfort and admission pathway.

IIIT-H campus is 66 acres in Gachibowli, Hyderabad — urban, 8 km from Hi-Tech City. 12 hostels accommodating ~80% students. Strong tech entrepreneurship culture, Microsoft and Adobe field offices nearby. IIIT-H has more dynamic urban campus life; IIIT-A has tighter community given residential mandate.
Verdict
Pick IIIT-A if: Strong CS-IT-ECE focus, prefer semi-rural quiet campus, mid-range JEE Main rank (CSE around AIR 4500 General), value institute of national importance status, lower fee + scholarship preference. Pick IIIT-H if: Top-tier CSE preference (research + product engineering), JEE Main top 4000 AIR, willingness to take UGEE separately, prefer Hyderabad urban campus with tech entrepreneurship ecosystem, target FAANG + international placements. IIIT-H has a clear advantage on placements; IIIT-A is more affordable and has IoNI status.
