Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT) was established in 2006 under the A. Shama Rao Foundation — the parent trust of the Srinivas Group of Institutions, founded in 1988 by Dr. CA A. Raghavendra Rao, who also serves as the Chancellor of Srinivas University and President of the foundation. Shrinivasa Mayya D. SIT Mangalore is at Srinivas Campus, Merlapadavu, Valachil, Farangipete Post, Mangaluru-574143, Karnataka — roughly 10 km from Mangaluru city centre towards BC Road. The institute operates on approximately 15 acres of green campus in the Valachil belt of Dakshina Kannada district. Facilities include Centre-of-Excellence labs, a Marine Engineering engine-room simulator, a central library of ~22,000 volumes, smart classrooms, incubation cells, separate boys and girls hostels accommodating ~650 residents, gymnasium, sports grounds, auditorium, ATM, health centre, canteen and transport.

SIT offers 12 undergraduate B.E. specialisations in 2025-26: Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Computer Science & Design (CSD), Computer Science & Business Systems (CSBS), AI & Machine Learning (AI&ML), AI & Data Science (AI&DS), Information Science & Engineering (ISE), Electronics & Communication (ECE), Electrical & Electronics (EEE), Mechanical (ME), Aeronautical, Automobile, and Marine Engineering. A B.Arch programme runs through the affiliated Srinivas School of Architecture. Civil Engineering is not currently offered on the SIT courses-offered page.

Applicants should also note that Srinivas University (Mukka) is a separate legal entity from SIT Valachil; SIT uses VTU affiliation and KCET code E144, while Srinivas University uses its own admissions process.

SIT offers three M.Tech specialisations — Computer Science & Engineering, Industrial Automation & Robotics, and Digital Electronics — each with VTU PGCET counselling intake (historical seat matrix of 18-24 seats per specialisation). The MBA programme runs with Finance, Marketing, HR and dual specialisations, admitted through KMAT/PGCET. The three-year MCA programme follows VTU PGCET. SIT also operates 6 VTU-recognised Ph.D. research centres across Mechanical Engineering, ECE, MBA, MCA, Physics and Chemistry.

For KCET-eligible Karnataka students the official sitmng.ac.in fee structure lists ₹1,00,000 in Year 1 and ₹80,500 per year thereafter — a four-year B.E. total of approximately ₹3,41,500 in tuition.
