SDIT was established in 2006 under the Shree Devi Education Trust (R.), Mangalore — a coastal-Karnataka trust founded in 1992. SDIT is the flagship engineering college of the wider Shree Devi Group, which also runs sister SDC / SDE colleges in physiotherapy, hotel management, nursing, business management and pre-university education.

Yes. SDIT runs M.Tech specialisations under the VTU postgraduate framework, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Computer Applications (MCA). Together with UG B.E. streams, the institute offers approximately sixteen UG and PG courses across engineering, management and applications.
What are the admission routes and eligibility for B.E. at SDIT?
B.E. admissions use KCET (KEA Karnataka), COMEDK UGET, JEE (Main) counselling and Shree Devi Education Trust management/NRI quotas. Eligibility is a 10+2 pass with Physics and Mathematics plus any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics, with 45% aggregate (40% for reserved categories). Lateral entry is via Karnataka DCET.
Does SDIT Mangaluru have hostel facilities?
Yes. SDIT provides separate hostels for men and women on or near the Kenjar campus, along with mess and residential amenities. An on-campus cafeteria, medical support and transport connecting Mangaluru city, Surathkal, Udupi and surrounding taluks round out the residential setup for outstation students.
