Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 typically run ₹85,000-1,15,000 inclusive of mess. Mess service includes vegetarian and non-vegetarian counters with predominant Karnataka cuisine plus North Indian and limited Continental rotations. No — JSSSTU (JSS Science and Technology University) is NOT a deemed-to-be university, despite how many third-party aggregators label it. It is a state private university established under the Karnataka legislature's JSS Science and Technology University Act No. 43 of 2013 and notified by the Government of Karnataka on 16 January 2016. The deemed-to-be university in the JSS family is JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), a separate medical/health-sciences institution in Mysuru. Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE, est. 1963) is the constituent engineering college housed inside JSSSTU — not an earlier name for the university. JSS Academy of Technical Education (JSSATE) at Bengaluru and Noida, JSS Medical College, JSS Dental, JSS Pharmacy Ooty, and JSS Polytechnic are separate JSSMVP or JSS AHER institutions and are not part of JSSSTU.
