Anuvartik Mirji Bharatesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Belagavi — Fees, Management Quota, Cutoffs, Placements 2025

Bharatesh Institute of Technology, whose full formal name on the COMEDK portal is Anuvartik Mirji Bharatesh Institute of Technology, launched its inaugural B.E. admissions in the academic year 2025-26. The college is run by the Bharatesh Education Trust (BET), Belagavi — a charitable trust established in 1962 that today operates more than twenty educational institutions spread across three campuses in Belagavi city, Halaga and Basavan Kudachi, covering school, pre-university, technical and professional education.

The college is housed in a purpose-built 30,000 square-foot green-architecture academic block at the Bharatesh Chandragiri Campus at Basavan Kudachi, near Shindholli Cross, on the Belagavi periphery. The Basavan Kudachi location sits on the Belagavi-Khanapur approach, giving the campus practical connectivity to Belagavi Railway Station, Sambra Airport, the city bus network and the central business district around Khanapur Road and College Road, so outstation students and city day-scholars have workable commute options.

BIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi — conveniently, the VTU headquarters is in the same city — and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The institution is listed on the official COMEDK Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation portal, enabling participation in COMEDK UGET seat allocation.

BIT offers four four-year Bachelor of Engineering programmes under VTU: Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Information Science & Engineering (ISE), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI&ML). The programme mix is deliberately calibrated to 2025-26 industry hiring — software, data, semiconductor and AI — and the stand-alone AI&ML branch (rather than an elective within CSE) is a deliberate differentiator from older Belagavi engineering colleges.

Belagavi is one of Karnataka's three engineering-education anchors alongside Bengaluru and Mangaluru, and it hosts the headquarters of Visvesvaraya Technological University itself. That headquarters presence gives VTU-affiliated Belagavi colleges structural advantages in curriculum rollout, examination coordination and workshops, and Belagavi has built up a significant student inflow from across north Karnataka, coastal Karnataka, southern Maharashtra and Goa. The Bharatesh Education Trust has been operating in the city since 1962 and saw an opportunity to extend its six-decade educational footprint into the degree-engineering segment.

Karnataka-domicile students apply through the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). Eligibility is a pass in 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics, and minimum 45% aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC). After KCET results, rank-holders register on the KEA portal, participate in option entry and online counselling, and receive seat allotment for BIT branches rank-wise. BIT is listed on the COMEDK Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation portal for direct COMEDK UGET allocation too.

Candidates outside the KCET pool can apply through the COMEDK UGET administered by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka, which is open to candidates across India. BIT appears on the official COMEDK Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation portal from its inaugural intake year. The college also operates a Management Quota that is filled directly by the institution subject to AICTE/VTU eligibility norms, and three-year diploma holders can enter the second year of B.E. through the Karnataka Diploma CET lateral-entry route.
