The management-quota fee comparison below is rendered from the current 2026-27 fee rows, not authored comparison prose. RVCE CSE is ₹36,00,000 (official circular year 1); MSRUAS CSE is ₹6,00,000 (annual fee).
Where Year 1 differs from later years, the amount is labelled as Year 1 payable rather than an annual fee.
Overview
RVCE and M.S. Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (MSRUAS/RUAS) are both Bangalore engineering institutions with the Ramaiah connection creating some brand confusion. RVCE (est. 1963, NAAC A++, NIRF #82) is a VTU titan. RUAS (est. 2004) is a separate private university under the Gokula Education Foundation, distinct from MSRIT. This comparison clarifies the significant quality gap.
Academics
RVCE is substantially stronger. With NAAC A++, NIRF #82, and VTU autonomous status, RVCE has world-class research and pedagogy. RUAS is a private university with its own degree-granting powers and NIRF 101-150 band overall, but its engineering programmes are less established than RVCE. RUAS is stronger in Dental (#22 NIRF) and Pharmacy (#56 NIRF) than in engineering.
Campus Life
RVCE has a well-developed campus on Mysore Road. RUAS is in Peenya — an industrial area with less desirable location but functional campus. RVCE wins on location and legacy infrastructure; RUAS benefits from university-level facilities.
