NIT Calicut (NITC) and Anna University Chennai (with its CEG, ACT and MIT colleges) represent two of South India premier government engineering options. NITC is a centrally-funded NIT admitting via JEE Main; Anna is a Tamil Nadu state university admitting through TNEA (based on Class XII Board marks).
