Sri Siddhartha Institute of Technology (SSIT), Maralur, Tumakuru is one of Karnataka's established private engineering colleges, founded in 1979 under the Sri Siddhartha Education Society (SSES). The parent society was established in 1959 by Shri H.M. Gangadharaiah with the blessings of Acharya Vinoba Bhave, and today runs over 80 affiliated institutions spanning engineering, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, commerce and general education.

SSIT is a constituent college of Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (SSAHE), Tumakuru, which holds Deemed-to-be-University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act.
