Shridevi Institute of Engineering and Technology (SIET) was established in 2002 in Tumakuru city of Karnataka. The college is run by Sri Shridevi Charitable Trust (R.), Tumakuru, which was founded in 1992 by Dr. M. R. Hulinaykar — a noted surgeon, academician and educationalist who continues to serve as Chairman and Managing Trustee. SIET sits within a larger Shridevi ecosystem that operates more than a dozen institutions spanning engineering, medicine, pharmacy, paramedical sciences, nursing, management, degree and PU colleges and schools, as well as the 200-bed Shridevi Hospital and Diagnostic Centre in Tumakuru.
