Overview
About Institute of Hotel & Restaurant Management (IHRM)
Institute of Hotel & Restaurant Management is a hotel mgmt college in Kolkata, West Bengal, established in 1994. Institute of Hotel & Restaurant Management is privately managed and self-financing. It is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. Institute of Hotel & Restaurant Management offers 2 programmes at undergraduate level. They are B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration and B.Sc. in Hha. Official IHRM pages identify the institute in Kolkata, founded in 1994, as affiliated with MAKAUT. The official B.Sc. Hospitality and Hotel Administration page describes a semester-based programme and industrial training, but does not publish a 2026-27-specific prospectus, attendance rule, medium of instruction, intake, or named hotel partners. The facilities page names a basic food-production unit, advanced training kitchen, bakery and confectionery unit, housekeeping laboratory, front-office training module, 32-cover restaurant, training bar, IT lab and library; it does not state a total lab count or training-hotel room count. The leadership page names Dr Rathin Kumar Banerjee as Principal, but gives no qualification. Faculty data are from the faculty page dated 2024-03-05 and lists 16 assistant professors. The institute's own website states affiliation with MAKAUT and AICTE approval, but no current NCHMCT course-wise/category listing, NCHM counselling seat-matrix entry, AICTE EoA letter/dashboard entry, or AICTE closed-list result was verified in the sources reviewed. Therefore NCHMCT affiliation and AICTE programme approval are not asserted here. The website's 2026 prospectus advertises B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration; its academic recognition route should be verified programme-by-programme for 2026-27. The website describes the institute as founded in 1994; this is an institute claim.
