Overview
About Sigma Institute of Physiotherapy
Faculty of Physiotherapy, Sigma University is an allied health college in Vadodara, Gujarat, established in 2006. It is affiliated to Sigma University. Faculty of Physiotherapy, Sigma University offers 1 programme at undergraduate level. The programme offered is Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T). The stated sanctioned intake across these programmes totals 50 seats. Official pages state BPT from AY 2026-27, with 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, minimum age 17, and admission through GPNAMEC. The official site reports a 5-year course including a 1-year compulsory rotatory internship and a focused intake of 50, while another official admissions microsite reports 4.5 years or 4 years plus 6 months internship; duration should therefore be treated as internally inconsistent, with the main 2026-27 university course page preferred. No official page reviewed published attendance, exam pattern, medium, dated faculty totals, principal identity, hospital bed counts, hospital accreditation, MoU validity, or quantified research outputs. The official page states a BPT programme beginning AY 2026-27, 5 years including a 1-year compulsory rotatory internship, and a focused intake of 50 students per batch. It claims approval by the Government of Gujarat and registration with the Gujarat State Allied and Healthcare Council; these are institution-site claims and no separate government permission order or current council register was located in the reviewed evidence. The NCAHP reference is curriculum-alignment/claim language, not an institution-recognition register. A Gujarat University result database search snippet separately names “Sigma Institute of Physiotherapy, At Bakrol, Di Vadodara,” but the current official programme page identifies Sigma University as the degree-awarding body; no current university code or affiliation session was published on the reviewed official pages. Clinical posting hospitals named by the college are Yogini Vasantdevi Hospital, Narhari Hospital, Tricolour Hospital, Pranayam Lung & Heart Institute, Rhythm Hospital, and Kashiben Gordhandas Patel Children's Hospital; these are clinical tie-ups, not evidence that any is the parent hospital.
