First-year B.Tech students are typically allocated triple-sharing rooms with double from the second year by seniority. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised at ~₹50,000-80,000 inclusive of mess given DTU government-university status — among India lowest-cost top-tier engineering. Mess service includes vegetarian, non-vegetarian and Jain options with North Indian, Punjabi, South Indian and Continental rotations.
