When was BIET Davangere established and who runs it?
Bapuji Institute of Engineering & Technology (BIET), Davangere was established in 1979 and began classes in the 1979-80 academic year. It is run by the Bapuji Educational Association (BEA), Davangere, a charitable conglomerate established in 1958 with more than fifty educational institutions.
Is BIET autonomous?
Yes. BIET is an Autonomous Institute affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. The autonomous status lets BIET design its own outcome-based curricula, conduct its own examinations and refresh its syllabi faster than the broader affiliating framework, while degrees continue to carry VTU recognition.

How do students get admission to BIET B.E. programmes?
Admission is through KCET for Karnataka-domicile candidates and COMEDK UGET for pan-India candidates, supplemented by a management-quota stream. Lateral entry to the second year is via Karnataka Diploma CET (DCET).
What are the eligibility requirements for B.E. admission?
Candidates need a 10+2 pass with Physics and Mathematics compulsory plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Electronics or Computer Science, a minimum aggregate in line with KEA / COMEDK norms, and a valid KCET or COMEDK UGET rank.
