COMEDK 2026 Result Day: Action Plan for Karnataka Engineering Aspirants

STEP 1: Result moment — log in to comedk.org, download your COMEDK rank card. The COMEDK rank is calculated as a normalised composite score across PCM at COMEDK level. STEP 2: Within 1 hour — calculate your category-wise rank and cross-check against previous-year closing ranks at your top 10 college choices. STEP 3: Days 1-3 — Option Entry window opens. COMEDK uses a college-branch combination option-entry system: you list your preferences across 200+ colleges and 50+ branches. Better to list 100+ options than 30-40. Use the top 200-300 college-branch combinations within your reachable rank for breadth. STEP 4: Mock Allotment — COMEDK publishes a mock allotment after option lock. Review which seat you would get. If satisfactory, lock. If not, re-rearrange options. STEP 5: Final allotment Round 1 — within 5-7 working days of allotment, visit the allotted college for document verification and fee payment. Documents needed: COMEDK admit card, rank card, 10th and 12th marksheets, school transfer certificate, conduct certificate, Aadhaar, six passport photos, parent ID, bank passbook. Fee payment via DD or NEFT. STEP 6: Round 2 — if Round 1 seat is not preferred, you can participate in Round 2 (typically 7-10 days after Round 1) by re-entering options. STEP 7: Mop-up Round — for residual seats after Round 2. Held physically at COMEDK consortium level with on-spot seat allocation. Be present in person if pursuing this option. STEP 8: KCET parallel — if KCET allotment offers a better branch at the same or higher tier college, you can choose KCET seat. Cancellation of COMEDK seat must be done within deadline; check refund policy. STEP 9: Management quota parallel — if neither KCET nor COMEDK offers preferred branch at top college, management-quota admission opens via direct college application. This involves separate fee structure (typically 3-5x KCET fees) but guarantees seat at preferred branch. STEP 10: Final decision — by mid-July, students must commit to one seat. The fee payment locks you in. Switch only with formal cancellation procedures and refund subject to college policy. Plan ahead.
