KIIT Bhubaneswar B.Tech tuition for 2026-27 is charged per semester in three branch groups. Group 1 (Civil, Mechanical, EEE, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Chemical) is ₹1.75 lakh per semester. Group 2 (ECE, Electronics & Computer Science, some EEE specialisations) is ₹2.00 lakh per semester. Group 3/4 (CSE, IT, CSE-AI/ML, Cyber Security, Data Science, IoT) is ₹2.20 lakh per semester. KIITEE Ranks 1-1000 receive a ₹1.2 lakh per annum tuition waiver provided the student maintains 60%+ PCM aggregate each year. A Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme reserves up to 5% supernumerary seats for BPL card holders with full tuition waived. Semester-wise University Merit Scholarships are given to the top 3 rank-holders in each class based on CGPA. State-board toppers, sports-quota candidates, defence dependents and siblings of existing students are considered on a case-by-case basis at counselling; no blanket matrix is published.
What is the KIIT hostel fee?
Hostel charges at KIIT are billed per semester based on room type. Non-AC options: triple-sharing around ₹32,000 per semester; twin-sharing approximately ₹46,000. AC options: triple-sharing around ₹60,000; twin-sharing approximately ₹70,000. A one-time hostel admission charge of about ₹15,000 is levied at first-year reporting. How do I apply to KIIT Bhubaneswar through KIITEE?
Register online at the KIITEE portal when Phase 1 applications open in November 2025. KIITEE 2026 has no application fee — the exam is entirely free to attempt. Select a phase (Phase 1 exam Apr 16-20, 2026; Phase 2 June; Phase 3 July — tentative) and sit the 150-minute online computer-based test of 120 MCQs covering Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (40 each, +4/-1 marking). Candidates can attempt multiple phases with the best rank carried forward. Shortlisted candidates are called for rank-based phased counselling after each exam round, where they exercise branch preferences and pay a one-time ₹75,000 at reporting. JEE Main scorers may also apply on a parallel merit track.
What is the eligibility for KIIT B.Tech admission?
Candidates must have passed or be appearing for 10+2 in 2024, 2025 or 2026 from a recognised board in regular full-time schooling with a minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined (50% for SC/ST). English must have been studied as a subject. Candidates must be born on or after 01 July 2005 (17+ years as on 31 December 2026). For B.Tech Biotechnology and Integrated M.Tech Biotechnology, PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology) with 60% aggregate is also accepted. There is no domicile or state restriction — KIIT admits students from all Indian states and NRI / foreign-national categories on separate tracks.
What NAAC grade and NIRF ranking does KIIT hold?
KIIT Bhubaneswar holds a NAAC A++ grade (institutional CGPA is not publicly published on kiit.ac.in — treat the widely-circulated 3.61 figure as unverified; it matches Jamia Millia Islamia's 2021 score). The university is deemed-to-be under Section 3 of the UGC Act since 2004. NIRF India Rankings 2025 placed KIIT at Engineering rank 36 (score 58.79), Overall rank 27, University rank 17, Research rank 43, Management rank 68, Law rank 14, Medical rank 24 and Dental rank 26. NIRF Innovation placed KIIT in the band 11-50. Core B.Tech programmes are NBA-accredited.
How large is the KIIT campus and what are the facilities?
KIIT operates on a large multidisciplinary precinct on KIIT Road, Patia, Bhubaneswar, Odisha 751024. Campus-area figures vary widely across sources (Grokipedia cites 36 sq km, the IEEE partner page cites 25 sq km, older sources cite ~200 acres) — no single consolidated acreage is published on the institution's own mandatory disclosure, so the ~500-acre figure used in marketing materials is an approximation. Facilities span NBA-accredited engineering laboratories, central library with digital journals, the KIIT Technology Business Incubator, Olympic-grade sports infrastructure, central medical centre, bank branches, on-campus boys and girls hostels, cafeterias and 24x7 transport services to the city.
What are the placement statistics at KIIT?
KIIT Bhubaneswar reported a 2024-25 placement cycle with a highest domestic package of ₹53 LPA (Yugabyte, US-HQ company often labelled as international offer), a B.Tech average of approximately ₹8.5 LPA, and roughly 5,585 total offers from around 700 recruiters across all schools. NIRF 2025 placement disclosure (AY 2023-24 cohort) shows 3,513 of 3,611 eligible 4-year UG students placed with a median salary of ₹9.7 LPA; the 3-year UG cohort (CSE dual) placed 1,430 of 1,495 with a median of ₹6.3 LPA. Top recruiters include High Radius (184 offers), Deloitte, Accenture, Cognizant, Microsoft, Amazon, Capgemini and TCS.
