Overview
Sharda University Greater Noida and JIIT Noida (Jaypee Institute of Information Technology) are two of the most popular private engineering institutes in NCR. JIIT is older and CSE-IT focused with higher placement record; Sharda is multi-disciplinary with broader campus and international student diversity. Both admit through JEE Main as primary route.
Academics
JIIT Noida is purely focused on CS-IT-ECE-Bio-Tech-Bio-informatics (only 5 BTech disciplines) — narrower than Sharda university 14+ disciplines. JIIT is part of Jaypee Group education trust; Sharda is part of Sharda Group. Both have strong autonomy. JIIT has tighter focus on tech/CS; Sharda has broader breadth including Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Architecture.

JIIT campus is 25 acres in Sector-62 Noida — adjacent to NCR IT corridor. ~6 hostels, 100% residential. Sharda campus is 63 acres in Greater Noida Sector-32. ~12 hostels, 95% residential. Sharda has bigger campus and Sharda Hospital on campus; JIIT is more compact and integrated with Sector-62 IT ecosystem.
Verdict
Pick JIIT Noida if: CSE / IT / ECE focus, JEE Main 96+ percentile, willingness to pay INR 5-6 lakh more for premium placement. Pick Sharda University if: budget-conscious (INR 5-6 lakh saved), broader engineering disciplines, prefer larger campus + international diversity.
