University of Jammu is an university in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, established in 1968. University of Jammu offers 9 programmes, 2 at undergraduate level and 7 at postgraduate level. These include Faculty of Arts/Oriental Languages: programme family (PG), Faculty of Business Studies: Commerce programme family (PG), Faculty of Business Studies: Management programme family (PG), Faculty of Education: programme family (PG) and Faculty of Law: programme family (PG), among others. University of Jammu is a state public university established in 1968, located at Babasaheb Ambedkar Road, Jammu-180006. UGC's 26 September 2022 Section 12(B) list names it as a state university; the AISHE listing gives code U-0195. The current official website identifies Prof. Umesh Rai as Vice-Chancellor and presents 2026-27 admission notices. The university's own reports document PhD programmes and funded research projects, but no consolidated current patent or recognised-guide count was found. The clinical tie-up listed is reported in the 2022-23 annual report; no hospital bed strength or teaching-hospital relationship was established. The UGC State (Public) Universities list dated 17.01.2024 prints Jammu University, serial 150, with establishment year 1968.
