About Thangavelu Engineering College
Thangavelu Engineering College is an engineering college in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, established in 1995. Thangavelu Engineering College is privately managed and self-financing. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. Thangavelu Engineering College offers 11 programmes, 8 at undergraduate level and 4 at postgraduate level. These include Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engg, among others. The stated sanctioned intake across these programmes totals 522 seats. Official college pages identify Thangavelu Engineering College as a private, AICTE-approved institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, established in 1995, at Karapakkam, Chennai. The infrastructure page explicitly states that the Hi-tech lab hosts 11 laboratories and lists additional laboratories, but does not provide a single whole-college laboratory total. The MoU page describes partnerships involving Thangavelu Engineering College and T.J. Institute of Technology together; the listed companies are therefore reported as group-page partnerships, not as exclusive TEC partnerships. The college website states establishment in 1995 and management by Ponniamman Educational Trust and TJ Educational Trust. The official AICTE approvals page lists letters through 2025-26 but no 2026-27 letter was identified on that page; no target-year AICTE intake or application number is therefore reported. The NIRF 2023 Engineering page explicitly lists Thangavelu Engineering College as a participating institute; this confirms participation only and does not establish a rank or band. No unsupported NAAC grade, NBA programme, fee figure, AICTE intake, or campus statistic is included.
