About Sree Balaji College of Physiotherapy
Sree Balaji College of Physiotherapy is an allied health college in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, established in 1999. It is affiliated to Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research. Sree Balaji College of Physiotherapy offers 1 programme at undergraduate level. The programme offered is Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT). The college website states that BPT comprises four years of study plus six months of compulsory internship and identifies affiliation with Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research; its profile describes operation under Bharath University, deemed under Section 3 of the UGC Act, since 2007. The website states Government of Tamil Nadu approval and Indian Association of Physiotherapist approval, but no current official regulator or university roster was retrieved to independently verify 2026-27 recognition. No dated college faculty totals, principal name, attendance rule, medium, exam pattern, quantified research output or industry MoUs were published in the retrieved official pages. The facilities page explicitly lists 10 laboratories. The college's official website states that it conducts a Bachelor of Physiotherapy programme, claims Government of Tamil Nadu approval, and identifies Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research as its affiliation; its profile describes the institution as operating under Bharath University from 2007 and calls it a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act. The same site also claims recognition by the Indian Association of Physiotherapist, which is a professional association rather than a statutory institutional regulator. No official current-year university affiliated-college entry, state regulator recognition list, or programme-specific approval status with sanctioned intake was located in the reviewed official material; therefore no regulator recognition row is asserted. The 900-bed figure on the college facilities page belongs to Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, a separate parent/attached hospital, and is not included as a campus fact.
