About Mahatma Education Society's Pillai College of Engineering
Mahatma Education Society's Pillai College of Engineering is an engineering college in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, established in 1999. Mahatma Education Society's Pillai College of Engineering is autonomous. It is affiliated to University of Mumbai. Mahatma Education Society's Pillai College of Engineering offers 6 programmes at undergraduate level. These include Automobile Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Information Technology, among others. The stated sanctioned intake across these programmes totals 630 seats. The college website states that from academic year 2026-27 it will not participate in Maharashtra State CET Cell CAP counselling and directs applicants to Pillai University for application information. The official AICTE page currently exposes EoA reports through 2025-26, but no 2026-27 EoA report or course-wise 2026-27 intake was published on the reviewed page. The college’s admission notice says its UG engineering programmes received NBA accreditation for three years, but the exact programme-wise validity was not available in the reviewed official material. Principal Dr. Sandeep M. Joshi holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay. His personal profile reports two patents and 14 international-journal papers; these have not been counted as institution-level research metrics. Faculty figures are from the college’s 2022-23 AQAR, not the target year. The college was formerly Pillai Institute of Information Technology, Engineering, Media Studies and Research and was renamed PCE in 2016. It is a self-financed Malayalam linguistic minority institute under Mahatma Education Society; UGC autonomous status applies from 2021-22 while the University of Mumbai remains the degree-awarding affiliating body. The official 2026-27 notice says PCE will not participate in Maharashtra State CET Cell CAP rounds and directs applicants to Pillai University Campus. Official institutional material reports NBA accreditation for specified UG programmes through 30 June 2025; no current NBA programme-level validity beyond that date is asserted here.
