What is the B.Tech tuition fee at IIT Ropar for 2026-27?
IIT Ropar follows the Ministry of Education (MoE) standard fee structure applicable to all IITs. General, OBC, and EWS category students pay approximately Rs 1.00 lakh per semester (Rs 2.00 lakh per year) as tuition. This is subject to periodic MoE revision. SC, ST, and PwD category students receive a full tuition fee waiver. Students from families with annual income below Rs 1 lakh also receive a full waiver, while those from families earning Rs 1-5 lakh receive a two-thirds waiver under the Government of India fee remission scheme.
What are hostel and mess charges at IIT Ropar?
Hostel accommodation and mess charges at IIT Ropar are billed separately from tuition. Combined hostel rent, electricity, mess advance, establishment charges and caution deposit typically total Rs 60,000 to Rs 80,000 per year for residential students.
