ICT Mumbai runs separate boys and girls hostels on the Matunga campus. First-year B.Tech students are typically allocated triple-sharing rooms with double and single occupancy by seniority. Annual hostel and mess fees for 2025-26 are heavily subsidised — typically ₹40,000-65,000 per academic year inclusive of mess (deemed-to-be-university government subsidy). Mess service includes vegetarian, non-vegetarian and Jain options across mess centres. Wi-Fi, hot-water geysers, gymnasium access, study lounges and CCTV are standard.

ICT Mumbai has origins dating to 1933, when it was established as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT) by the University of Bombay (now University of Mumbai).
