About Hooghly Engineering and Technology College (HETC)
Hooghly Engineering & Technology College is an engineering college in Hooghly, West Bengal, established in 2004. Hooghly Engineering & Technology College is privately managed and self-financing. It is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal. Hooghly Engineering & Technology College offers 6 programmes at undergraduate level. These include B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech Electronics and Communications Engineering, B.Tech Electrical Engineering, B.Tech Mechanical Engineering and B.Tech Civil Engineering, among others. The stated sanctioned intake across these programmes totals 330 seats. Official college pages identify HETC as a degree engineering college affiliated with the former West Bengal University of Technology, now MAKAUT. The current mandatory-disclosure page links a July 2025 disclosure and states course-wise approved annual intakes of CSE 120, ECE 60, Electrical 60, Civil 60 and Mechanical 30, but the linked PDF's AICTE application number, Permanent ID and 2026-27 course table were not extractable here. Hostel availability for boys and girls is stated, but capacities are not published. No college-specific published research counts, patents, recognised research-centre status, or attendance percentage were found in the reviewed official pages. The college is a society-run, non-profit, self-financed engineering college. The college's mandatory-disclosure PDF link was opened, but its extracted content did not contain usable AICTE identifiers or target-year approval tables. AICTE Permanent ID and 2026-27 Application No. therefore remain unreported. The official WBJEEB profile states that the institution was focused on acquiring NAAC and NBA accreditation; no current NAAC grade or NBA-accredited programme was recorded. MAKAUT is the successor name of West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT), which appears on older college materials.
