The college is located at Madapatna, just off the Madikeri Road (SH-88) in Kushalnagar town, Somwarpet Taluk, Kodagu District, Karnataka 571234. The campus spans approximately 10 acres in a green plateau setting. Kushalnagar is about 85 km from Mysuru and 250 km from Bengaluru and is served by KSRTC and private bus networks on SH-88.
What B.E. branches does GEC Kushalnagar offer and what is the sanctioned intake?
GECK offers four classical 4-year B.E. programmes: Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Each branch has a historical AICTE-approved intake of 60 students, totalling 240 sanctioned UG seats plus a 5% Supernumerary Quota (SNQ) of roughly 12 additional seats introduced by KEA from 2023. No new-age specialisations (AI/ML, Data Science, IoT) were introduced as of AY 2025-26.
Is GEC Kushalnagar NAAC or NBA accredited, and does it rank in NIRF?
No. The college does not hold NAAC accreditation — no grade, CGPA, cycle or validity is published on the college site or the NAAC Accredited HEIs portal as of AY 2025-26. What are the 2025-26 tuition fees at GEC Kushalnagar?
Under the 2025 Karnataka fee revision, General-Merit KCET candidates pay Rs 44,200 per year in tuition plus Rs 10,000 in university and development charges (~Rs 54,200 first-year total). SC/ST candidates are fully fee-exempted in every income bracket (previous Rs 750 nominal fee is now Rs 0). Category-1 low-income candidates (family income below Rs 2.5 lakh) are also fully exempted.
