GEC Haveri is located on a 33-acre hillock in Devagiri village, approximately 10 km from Haveri town in the Haveri district of Karnataka (PIN 581110). The campus is surrounded by water bodies and offers academic blocks, engineering laboratories, a central library with VTU consortium access and SC/ST book bank, a boys hostel with mess, sports facilities, an auditorium, cafeteria, medical room and placement cell. The nearest railway station is Karajgi (4 km) and the nearest airport is Hubballi (75 km).
What B.E. programmes does GEC Haveri offer and what is the total intake?
GEC Haveri offers four B.E. programmes — Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering — each with 60 sanctioned seats, for a total UG intake of 240 seats plus a 5% Supernumerary Quota (SNQ) of 12 additional seats, per Karnataka government notification ED 170 TEC 2025. The curriculum follows VTU Belagavi norms and examinations.

Admission to all 240 UG seats is through the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) centralised counselling based on the KCET rank. Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics plus a third science subject (Chemistry/Biology/Biotech/Electronics/CS) at 45% PCM aggregate (40% for SC/ST and category candidates) and must appear for KCET (Karnataka) or a recognised national entrance test.
Does GEC Haveri participate in COMEDK UGET or have a management quota?
No. GEC Haveri is a 100% government-funded college under DCTE Karnataka and does not participate in COMEDK UGET. There is no management quota or institutional-level admission process — all 240 regular seats plus 12 SNQ seats are allotted exclusively through KEA/KCET online option-entry. What postgraduate programmes are offered at GEC Haveri?
GEC Haveri offers two M.Tech specialisations — M.Tech in Structural Engineering (Civil, 18 seats, since 2011) and M.Tech in Machine Design (Mechanical, since 2015) — admitted through Karnataka PGCET. Candidates must hold a valid B.E./B.Tech degree in the relevant discipline. Additionally, the Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments are VTU-recognised research centres offering PhD programmes.
What is the fee structure at GEC Haveri for 2025-26?
Per the KEA revised fee notification 2025 (ED 170 TEC 2025), GEC Haveri charges ₹44,200 annual tuition for KCET General Merit candidates and ₹20,610 for SNQ seats. SC/ST students and families with annual income up to ₹10 lakh are fully exempted from tuition under the 2025 waiver revision. Partial concessions apply to Category 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B candidates with eligible income certificates. The four-year B.E. total is well under ₹2 lakh for most general-category students.
