Overview

About The Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education

Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education is an arts, science and commerce college in Bengaluru, Karnataka. It is affiliated to Bangalore University. Dalai Lama Institute for Higher Education offers 11 programmes, 5 at undergraduate level and 1 at postgraduate level. These include Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) and Bachelor in Tibetan Studies, among others. The official DLIHE Admission Guidelines 2026-27 page is live under a legacy URL ending in “admission-guidelines-2024-25”. It states that classes follow Bangalore University schedules and admissions require Bangalore University approval. DLIHE’s current site still identifies Bangalore University as its affiliating body. The site reports 35 regular faculty members but does not publish a student–faculty ratio or department-wise faculty counts. The 85% attendance figure is DLIHE’s institutional requirement; the same policy also cites 75% as the Bangalore University minimum for regular courses and 85% for specialized programmes. No institutional MoU list or aggregate funded-research/publication total was found. The official website currently uses both “Bangalore” and “Bengaluru” in institutional and address references. The 2026–27 admission guideline states 60% eligibility for UG admission and also permits fee-paying candidates with 55% if seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis; it does not support labeling UG admission as merit-based. The Institute is part of Tibetan Children’s Village (TCV), described by DLIHE as an integrated charitable organization. The campus extends over about 45 acres.
