Anna University admits B.E./B.Tech students through TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission) — based on Class XII Board marks for state-quota seats — and through JEE Main for some categories. Typical 2024 TNEA cutoffs (out of 200) for CEG main campus under Open Category were: CSE 198+, ECE 197+, IT 196+, EEE 195+, Mechanical 192+, Aerospace 192+, Civil 188+, Chemical 188+, Production 185+, Naval 185+, Industrial 183+, Architecture 192+. Carry to admission: 10th and 12th marksheets, TNEA score card, JEE Main if applicable, transfer/migration certificate, conduct certificate, Aadhaar, six passport photos and Tamil Nadu nativity certificate for state-quota seats (Tamil Nadu has 69% reservations: SC 18%, ST 1%, MBC/DNC 20%, BC 26.5%, BCM 3.5%). The first-year fee is heavily subsidised at around ₹13,000-25,000 per year — among India's lowest for top-tier engineering. NRI and foreign-national admissions go through dedicated international office.
