The Post-Matric Scholarship for Scheduled Caste (SC) students is one of the largest centrally-sponsored scholarship schemes in India, administered by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. It covers all post-matriculation courses, including B.E./B.Tech engineering programs, at recognized institutions.
The scholarship pays the full institute tuition fee (subject to AICTE/UGC approved ceilings for private colleges), plus a maintenance allowance ranging from Rs. 380 to Rs. 1,200 per month depending on whether the student is a hosteler/day scholar and the course group. Additional allowances cover study tour, thesis typing, book grant, and disability allowance where applicable.
Eligibility: SC caste certificate, family income up to Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum, enrolled in a recognized post-matriculation course, and not simultaneously receiving any other scholarship covering the same expenses. Applications are submitted through the State-specific Post-Matric portal (linked from the National Scholarship Portal).
